I love this school. academic programs are excellent and anyone can find help if they need it. There is everything you can possibly want on campus. Many clubs and activities to get involves as well.

Alcohol and Drugs – This is college so most people do drink. Many do it as a social thing which isn't a bad thing. Some people do go overboard and blackout but don't really regret it because they have the time of their lives. The dorms don't allow any alcohol or drugs and if they do catch you, they could kick you out. Some people do drugs outside of dorms and I haven't really seen anyone get in trouble for it.

Campus Life – The dorms are pretty decent. They keep them very clean and there's a lot of room to do what you want. The price is fair but could still go down a little. They have many activities to get involved and meet new people. Housing is placed at a good distance. The walk to class is good and it made it easier to get to class and other places at any time you want. The dorms themselves were cozy enough and kept in good shape.

UCF is so amazing. The entire enivronment at the school is great. People have so much school pride and being in Orlando there is always something to do. And you would think being such a big school it would be hard to find your way around, but thats not the case. Its very easy to figure out the campus.

Punishments Are Enforced! Be careful, they definitely enforce the rules. My roommate got pulled over on campus for drinking and driving and recieved a DUI. Now she cannot return to the school until spring semester. And RA's will be walking around all night to be listening for parties, so if you have one, be smart about it.

Nightlife locally can be summed up in one word: None! You might be able to find a few bars to visit in Melbourne, which is 30 mins away, or at Cape Canaveral such as Fish Lips. But nothing is too exciting. If you do decide to go out, just bring a group of friends who can make anywhere they go seem like party central!

Near the UCF @ Cocoa, there are a few "mom and pop" restaurants that are good, such as Odessey or Pizza Pan, that serve a variety of food. Other than that, there's the normal McDonald's, Sonic, Burger King, or even Subway within reasonable distance if you want to go with what you know you will like as well as quite a few Chinese food places to dine.

GO KNIGHTS – It's very easy to get into the football games, and the student section regularly breaks the 10,000 people mark. I'm not even a big sports fan but I love attending games. We even won our conference and the Liberty Bowl this past year! WOO!

Guys & Girls:
Everyone Is Attractive – Maybe it's the campus, I don't know, but everyone at UCF seems to be attractive in one way or another. The student body is very easy on the eyes.

Health & Safety:
Could Be Better but Not So Bad – Campus security is very good overall. There is a campus security system that emails any students that sign up for it at the sign of any trouble and issues warnings upon any dangerous activity occurring. My only complaint is the security of the numerous parking garages. There aren't any cameras in place to prevent vandalism or theft, and I personally experienced the lack of security during my second semester when the antenna was snapped off of my car.

Buses Galore! The University of Central Florida provides buses, that also operate on weekends, to transport students from their off campus homes to classes everyday in a timely fashion for at no cost. To move around the local city, UCF also provides Lynx buses which operate through the night as well.

Life Does Not Revolve Around Greek – Greek life at UCF is not that huge compared to other schools. They are acknowledged and there are many of them, but they do not dominate the school. They mingle like everyone else and sometimes throw fun parties, but they are not seen as superior than others.

I personally don't know much about the housing off-campus, but from what I can tell just driving around in the area, there are a lot of close-by choices that are conveniently located, and are in very good shape. A lot of the apartments are new, some of them only being just recently built this year. The prices from what I've heard are reasonable and affordable, especially if you plan on splitting rent with a roommate. UCF's location makes finding off-campus housing easy and convenient.

The diversity at the University of Central Florida is moderate. The percentage of Caucasians to other races is higher, but there has never been any animosity between races. Everyone, for the most part, gets along and are very friendly to each other.

At UCF, finding a good and nearby place to eat is as easy as it gets. There is such a variety of restaurants to choose from and they are all located conveniently. At the student union, there's a great smoothie place, a Mexican restaurant, an Italian restaurant, an Arabic restaurant, and an Asian restaurant. There is also a Chick-Fil-A there that is easy to get to. There are a lot of other choices scattered all around campus that are also easy to get to, and offer great meals. The best part is that there are a lot of healthy places to go, which is very rare on a college campus. One of the hardest things for a college student is to eat healthy, but UCF makes it very easy.

There is so much to do around UCF. Because it's basically located on Alafaya Trail, you have access to the Waterford Lakes shopping center which has so many popular stores, a movie theater, a bowling alley, a huge gym, and a great variety of restaurants. There are also a lot of nearby places for school supplies, groceries, and electronic devices such as laptops and cell phones. Not only does all of this provide students with convenience and entertainment, but also a lot of job opportunities. The atmosphere itself is inviting and calming. Because the area is surrounded by a lot of communities (Avalon, Waterford, Eastwood and Stoney Brook) it's very family friendly so it's comforting for the college students that are new to area. The campus at UCF is clean, organized and welcoming. There is a lot of student involvement and interaction that makes going to school here a lot more comfortable than imagined. The location is convenient, and the atmosphere is perfect. I would recommend this university to anyone.

With two printing labs, more computer labs than any school i know of (I'm still discovering some and I'm a junior!), UCF's Computer Resources are top notch.

Being an Engineer – I'm attending UCF and I'm majoring in Civil Engineering. The work load is hectic but manageable. The university gives us plenty of opportunities to do well with the resources that are available. All you have to do is take the time to ask for help, if needed, and the teachers or tutor will help.

I personally like having a car on campus but I know a few people who would ride bikes from their off campus housing. Parking during the day could be extremely hard because everything is full, but if you get here somewhat early you will manage to find a spot.
College Senior 2011-08-06T14:05:10Z
Everything on campus is relatively new so most of the building are great to be around. The campus is built in a circle so that makes it easy to get around.

UCF is the new up and coming school in Florida which makes it exciting to be on campus nowadays. Most of the facilities are new, which also means a lot of the equipment is new also. Also, there is always something happenning on campus that allows you to interact with other people.
College Senior 2011-08-06T13:55:04Z
Usually it is very hot around campus but nothing that ruins your day. Sometimes there is a prolonged period of rain and lightning which can bring some cancellation of classes. But for the most part the weather does not affect what I want or need to do that day.
College Senior 2011-08-06T13:47:58Z
Nike and Hercules are both newer than the other dorm room style housing. Both of those communities also are extremely close to the gym and pool which could be convenient for someone interested in those things. The problem with these dorms is that they are a farther walk to class and the stadium so you need to provide more time to get to where you need to go. But overall I find these dorms to be great for on campus housing.

Social Lives – UCF finds alternatives to drinking. Parties are organized by the school on Friday nights that allow students the opportunity to be amongst people that share their beliefs. The school allows drinking for tailgating but heavily polices the area.

Muliticultural Utopia – UCF has representatives from numerous cultures attending classes each semester. One just needs to walk around campus and listen to the different languages spoken by students. Professors are very helpful with students that seem to have problems with the language barrier.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
