Surprisingly Very Reasonable – There is a wider range of choices for off-campus housing. The rates are very reasonable and the area is warm and nice.

Homes Are Plentiful! While finding off-campus housing is typically an inconvenience in most places, in Orlando we boast the various options we have. Since it is not just a rural area, we have plentiful apartments and houses to choose from. Living is not expensive, especially if you choose to live with roommates, and rent usually includes all utilities (food, electric, water, internet, and cable). There are also many apartments in construction for future students.

I have never had a professor at University of Central Florida that has been less than motivating and inspiring to my field. I typically have difficulty choosing which classes to take because I end up wanting to take them all! We have professors that come from varying fields and backgrounds so curriculums are usually exceptionally broad, specially because it is a research university. Registration processes are done online unless you choose to do it with a counselor. The special study options are many - particularly study abroad of which we have many programs for all areas. I would have to say that our most common majors are Business and Engineering.

Mickey Mouse Is Not the Only Orlando Resident – The local atmosphere in the vicinity of University of Central Florida is a multi-cultural experience, reminiscent of the touristic attractions that are so close by. With things like Disney World, SeaWorld, and Universal 30 minutes away from campus, it is difficult to find yourself at a loss for things to do. However, closer to campus we have things like the Enzian, which is an indie theatre, catering to specialized films and those interested; Natura, a bar where you can indulge in boba tea, hookah, and study-time at the same time; and numerous bars and food-study places that cater specifically to University of Central Florida student life and events as well as providing discounts with a student ID. Students also have Waterford Lakes close by, as well as international malls such as Florida Mall and Mall at Millenia, where many students can find jobs that understand their busy class schedules. In addition, there is a lively downtown area in the heart of Orlando 10 minutes away and the new Amway Arena that holds incredible concerts and basketball games for the Orlando Magic. It truly is a wonderful place to live.

Sunny MOST of the Year – For most of the year the weather is perfect. 80% of the year the conditions are perfect for the pool or the beach. In the winter, it gets really cold but not unbearable. Unfortunately, being in the center of Florida we do get our weeks of heavy rain.

Parties EVERYDAY – Around the UCF area there's always a reason to go out and party. Around the campus we have a few 18 and up clubs and bars. If you go downtown it's mostly 21 and up with a few clubs as an exception. House parties are a regular weekend event.

Guys & Girls:
Everything for Everybody – We are known for having one of the most beautiful people at UCF. On top of that we have every type of guy or girl for any type of guy and girl. The diversity makes you feel like you're swimming in a beautiful pool of options.

The greek life at my school is pretty cool, they ususally have these parties and organizations to bring in new people to join and there are diffrent types of greek housing that are available for students who want to experience something new.

Best Places to Check Out – I would most likely say, that the best places to visit would be disney world, because orlando is a place of tourists.

a student will never feel alone at the second largest institution in the USA; UCF has 56000 students and growing, so some can always find a new friend

ranging from campus police to academics, UCF has very strict policies when it comes to grades, drinking, drugs, and even speeding and illegally crossing a street

Athletic Facilities – having recently expanded their athletic/gym facility, i would say it is top notch and flat out amazing with a 45 foot indoor rock climbing wall, heated lap pools and other general work out spaces

I couldnt afford to move out and so as a result, I have to drive 20-30 mins everyday to get to school. I wouldnt say that I have had a normal college experience because I still live at home. I tend to go to school and then drive back right after class because I usually have to be at work by early afternoon and so I have yet to get a real taste of life on campus. The campus is beautiful and people are friendly and my friends who live on or near campus love it.

Diverse and Accepted – The campus at UCF is the second largest in the nation and therefore it is very diverse in all forms of the word. Everyone is accepted for who they are. I haven't heard yet of a case of people not being accepted because of race, sexuality, religion, or anything else of that matter.

It's convenient to have a car since the campus is so large but its not necessary. Trying to find a parking spot around 11 am is similar to trying to find a spot at the outlets on black friday. Luckily, they recently built a new garage which is larger than the others which should help. Everyone need to have a parking decal; theyre kind of expensive but I know that the price is relatively on the low side when compared to other big schools.

The food choices are somewhat limited to unhealthy fast food at the student union. There are wraps and sushi available on campus but it's expensive to eat healthy. The school's dining hall offers basic selections but they do have $5 Fridays at one of the halls called Knightro's which is an affordable way to eat all you can.

There's always reliable WIFI on campus. The computer labs are crowded but I see attempts to add more computers around campus all the time. There's never a problem when I need a computer to use.

Health & Safety:
I feel completely safe and have never been scared to be on the UCF campus. There's never a question of whether the people on campus are dangerous.

Buses Make Life Easier – I live in an off campus affiliated apartment complex and we have shuttles that bring us to campus. It is very convenient and it definitely helps save gas money and time since you don't have to search for parking.

Variety in Housing Choices – There are plenty of different types of housing to choose from at the University of Central Florida. The people who want more of a dorm feel can choose from a few different layouts in which they share a room with someone, but for those who like to have their own space there are plenty of apartment style dorms to choose from. None of the choices include Community bathrooms so that is a huge advantage. The bathrooms are either shared by 2 people or 4 people.

The Health and Wellness Center at UCF is great! It has just been redone so everything is brand new and it looks beautiful. I have visited gyms at other Florida universities and none compare to the new and improved gym at UCF.

Pros and Cons of Off- Campus Living – Off campus housing is good living. Its very convenient because the mall, grocery stores and restaraunts are near by. There are some places that look great but are expensive and some places that are cheap but dont look too good. But overall you have more freedom.

The athletics are just now being recognized because the football team is amazing but the basketball team is not all that great unless you want to get a free shirt out of the whole deal. But IM sports are pretty popular for students to get involved in if they want to keep doing athletics.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
