Go Knights! The University of Central Florida has some of the most passionate fans I have ever seen. Sports like football, basketball and baseball have obviously taken a front seat to the smaller intramural teams, but overall support and school spirit throughout every level is generally even. UCF also offers an amazing Wellness & Recreation Center that is unbelievable!!

Melting Pot of College Living. Orlando has a variety of off-campus housing. It's really easy to find a nice house to rent that isn't very expensive. Orlando offers the opportunity to live in a house, or you can rent an apartment affiliated with the school or not. Luckily students of UCF are able to experience all types of living, from the downtown rural areas to the more quiet more family oriented areas closer to the campus. Safety isn't a huge issue but still an issue like around any college campus. I've personally always been cautious but never really worried about my safety around UCF.

University of Success – I came to the University of Central Florida because my half brother attended this university, I heard nothing but amazing things and didn't consider any other Florida university. When I came here I loved everything about it, the professors all wanted to an influence in their students lives and the faculty and everyone involved showed so much pride. It's an honor to be a student here and to call myself a UCF Knight.

Receiving financial aid is quite hard to accomplish. The application process is easy and the financial aid office is good with appointments and fluency. However, the scholarships are hard to get if you are not of a different ethnicity or live under your parent's roof.

Health & Safety:
Safety First – At every corner of UCF there is either a police officer or an emergency light awaiting students to press the button if danger arises. Never have I felt unsafe at UCF campus or on apartment campuses around UCF. The UCF police patrol off campus apartments.

The academic classes offered at UCF are immensely diverse where everyone from the art major to the science majors fit in. Opportunity is evident at UCF with professors willing to help students during their office hours and supplemental instruction courses offered free for students.

There is a lot of help at UCF for biology majors. Many Supplemental instrution times and tutors are available everyday and study groups are easy to come by. The staff members are experienced, helpful, and easy to talk to. Overall a great school.

Local weather doesn't have much effect on campus experience. The weather is pretty nice on most days

Cool Places – There is a variety of places for off campus dining. UCF is located in a more metropolitan area where there are plenty restaurants and places to hang out off campus.

A Really Great School! University of Central Florida is a really great school. It has a large campus, it's very diverse and provides you with all the necessities to be successful in your classes. The advisers are helpful and give really great advice. Even though some classes are challenging there are always ways to get extra help through Supplementary instruction and other tutoring.

A new parking garage was built recently on campus, but parking is still a mission. The parking decals are $68 for students. If you have an early class, you can find parking, but the later your class, the harder it will get to find parking.

Computer Needed! It is recommended that you have your own personal laptop. Yes, there are free printing labs available on campus, but your life will be so much easier (by a million!) to have your own laptop. Plus there is free wireless internet on campus!

Academic Advisers Really Helped! :D – I went into University of Central Florida undecided. I really had no clue about what I wanted to study. I decided to go to my Academic Adviser. That was possibly the best idea that I have ever made. He assigned me these assessment tests to take and reviewed my results with me. We went through every major that was suggested to me. Now I managed to narrow it down to Communication Sciences and Disorders, and Hospitality and Management. I haven't exactly decided on my major, but I definitely now have a better idea of what I want to go. Most likely I will study to become a Speech Language Pathologist!

This school has probably the most diverse group of students that I have seen in Florida. There's a variety of languages and religions at this school that I have not yet witnessed anywhere else.

Love It All – UCF is a beautiful campus all around. Everything is wonderfully constructed, from the dorms, to the Student Union, to the Leisure pool..UCF is prob the most attractive University that I have laid eyes on. Im not one to workout...but the gym is amazing, with its new renovations, students can enjoy a greater selection of equipment, take a swim in the pool, enjoy tv & music while working out, and even grab a footlong from Subway on the way out. The library is great as well, it's equipped with a Java City, and the many floors on the library or organized based on noise level. The main floor is perfect for group study and meetings, it's very high energy. Where as the 5th floor, is completely silent...great for individual studying.

A Paradise – I love the environment surrounding our school. Orlando is a beautiful city, filled with sunshine and happiness. Downtown Orlando showcases a more upbeat part of the city. But there are also tons of peaceful parks/lakes etc to visit for relaxation purposes. There are TONS of places to dine, nice clubs, an abundance of theme parks, and GREAT malls. Orlando has a lot to offer. There is always something to do in Orlando. Just don't forget to study! :)

I am an underclassman, but so far..the help that I have received from those in the Psychology Department has been exceptional. As a psych major I receive emails on numerous oppurtunities on & off campus, that would be of convenience in regards to my current endeavors and future career.I am giving a grade of an A minus only because,I am new to UCF & therefore new to the Psych department, & I have not spent that much time there thus far. Furthermore, this statement is based on the times that I have been there throughout my freshman year.

Somewhat Strict, Definitely Tolerable. They have their rules. Follow them, simple as that. They tell you from the beginning- Do Not bring alcohol or drugs on campus. If you get in trouble, deal with it because you chose to take that risk. From what I know, cops are pretty lenient. As long as you are not belligerent, they will typically let you off after pouring your alcohol out. Drugs however, I believe there is a zero tolerance for that. If you must, go somewhere else and do it. Just save yourself the hassle. Cops aren't ass*****, they're just looking out for the rest of us.

Guys & Girls:
Can't Get Enough – I have met SO MANY good looking, nice guys. It's so unusual for me, because it is such a change from high school. Everyone is genuinely so nice, and everyone dresses well. You can always find someone with similar interests as you. There are people in relationships but there are plenty of single guys to get in touch with.

So Far, So Good – Over my past visits, and my first week living here, I can see the amount of pride that the students and staff put into their work. Everybody is driven, searching for success. The Professors are kind, and have the student's best interest at heart. Everyone wants to help each other succeed. Curriculum and workload are bearable, so long as you take classes you are confident in. There are plenty of opportunities to receive help from a tutor, join study programs, and get connected with people in your field of study.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
