Before I started at UCF the only reason I would ever go to Orlando was the music. Seeing the university for the first time opened my eyes to much more. There are nature trails and even an on-campus pond with free rental canoes! At night there is plenty to do, whether its getting down at a local club or looking east as a rocket launches from Cape Canaveral.

I go to the regional campus in Daytona Beach, but i am in Florida none the less. Frankly, i love the cold but the summers are unbearable. They are scorching and humid. Getting in your car and starting the A/C does not seem to help at all sometimes. Not to mention it seems we only get two seasons a year now...the winter which seems to last a couple months IF THAT and summer.....which is the remaining of the year. Its horrible.

Transportation at the University of Central Florida is very organized and convenient. It picks up and drops off every fifteen minutes.

The off-campus dinning at the University of Central Florida is great, there is a great diversity of restaurants real close to campus.

The computers at University of Central Florida are always open and run well.

I enjoy the classes a lot more then any other classes I have taken in college so far. I am very happy with them because I am learning what I need to know for my future and the classes are very interesting.

I am not in my major yet, but I am told it is a little hard to get into.

If you like a pretty big city with nightlife...Orlando is where it's at.

Lived in Libra my first year and it was good because my roommate left after 2 weeks. The hercules/nike apartments are nice but Towers is overpriced.

Pretty hard to find a spot and you have to pay for it.

It's Florida, so it is hit or miss. Most of the time it is nice and sunny. But there are also the times we experience torrential downpours. It never hurts to carry around an umbrella just in case.

There is an abundance of off-campus dining. Not only are most open late, most offer student discounts and have very friendly wait-staff.

It was very difficult to find scholarships at the University that appealed to me. It was just as difficult to qualify for financial aid due to my parents' income. I, as an individual, am paying for college, not my parents.

Parking is a pain. It's expensive and often hard to find a spot. I've heard decent things from the student who use the shuttle system though.

I've never explicitly witnessed drug or alcohol abuse on campus, although I've heard of people smelling pot through air vents in campus housing and I'm sure it happens in other places on campus while I'm just oblivious to it.

One awesome thing about the East Orlando area, where UCF resides, is its variety of food, coffee, and snack places. There's literally something for everyone, and you'll discover some places that you'll absolutely fall in love with.

Orlando is just one of those cities that has so much going on at once! It's great if you love the theme parks, or enjoy finding cool new cafes to sip coffee in. Overall, Orlando always has something new to offer. UCF itself is incredible. It's the second largest school in the nation, which is really awesome when it comes to students having school spirit. It's also one of the only schools that actually allows undergrad students to do research!

UCF is pretty great about shuttles going to and from campus if you don't live in a dorm. Sadly, like most Florida cities, Orlando is not very public transportation friendly. There is no subway system at all. For the most part, students without cars are able to get from home to campus and surrounding areas pretty easily.
College Junior 2013-08-22T16:36:24Z
They are kind of expensive, but if you want safer and nicer area you'll be paying more unless you live in a house.
College Junior 2013-08-22T16:35:40Z
They are pretty strict when it comes to academic dishonesty. Its always better to do your own work.
College Junior 2013-08-22T16:33:40Z
The bus system sometimes is not that considerate of students who are rushing to class. They should do more activities for school spirit.
College Freshman 2013-08-21T23:44:49Z
Parking permits are expensive.
A bicycle would be very helpful in getting around campus efficiently.
It is difficult to find parking but when parking is found, it is suggested to leave your vehicle there and try to walk around campus as much as possible.

I have found no assistance in scholarships as of yet and have no scholarship assistance even though I am under the age of 21, filed dependent and make less than 15 thousand dollars a year.
College Freshman 2013-08-21T23:30:29Z
The library is huge and greatly helpful. The student union is very centralized on the campus. The help desk is extremely helpful, more so than any other help desk I have ever met.

All the athletic students try their best every time they perform. There is a very good recreational and wellness center that serves many students with a variety of group fitness, machines, and activities.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
