It's a very rigorous major that requires a lot of work and studying but it will prepare the student for schools beyond college such as grad school or medical school.

Guys & Girls:
You find all types of people at the University of Central Florida: Greek, athletes, intellectuals, party goers etc. There are a balance of attractive and non-attractive people from all ethnicity's, however more white than anything else. Many people especially those that are around campus all the time seem to be in relationships. People dress in a multitude of styles from preppy, to classy, to more rocker its college you see a pretty cool mix. Social life here is really good too around campus there is a lot to do and downtown is like 25-30 minutes away so with a good group of friend you could have a good time. Lots of parties on and near campus.

I received an okay amount of financial aid because I sent in my FASFA three weeks late than what is recommended according to the financial aid department if you do not have your FASFA done by mid-February you are missing out on a lot of aid. My advice to you is get you tax papers as soon as you can and complete your FASFA for a max amount of aid. I also feel that this school does nothing to broadcast important dates about this like others school I have seen do. So be very aware of important dates on your own they are usually posted online. Make sure to keep up to date with financial aid advisers to see how everything processes.

Health & Safety:
I feel that UCF's campus is pretty safe of course always be aware of what can happen especially at night if you live at campus make sure you know where you are dorming and don't be afraid to ask question about where you have been assigned. I feel safe on this campus we have campus security as well as campus police all around.

The local weather affects my campus experience in a good way, because it is mostly sunny.and hot, and for me that is all one needs, since it makes one's mood change to happy every time you see the blue sky, and everything look marvelous.

Off-campus housing is less expensive that on campus housing; however, it is not that convenient since if one lives on-campus, one can walk to class, to the library whenever one needs. However, it is more expensive, and the fact that you have to share rooms with people you do not know. I would like to live on-campus, but I don't suggest anybody who has financial problems to take this option, since off-campus would be cheaper.

I would like an internship in a chemistry lab. I love chemistry, and would enjoy working with experimenting with it. I would not expect them to pay me a lot of money, just what is necessary for living. I do not have any concern about finding an internship; however, I know it is not easy since I have no work experience in a lab or anything like that.

I love my Biomedical Science Program at UCF. They have interesting classes that will help people who want to become a doctor in the future. However, it is good for people who want to become a doctor in the future, since it is not good for people who wants to stop with a bachelor's degree, since it is not easy to find jobs with it.
College Junior 2013-08-07T04:41:39Z
I am very happy with my program. If I had to do it again, I would do so, because I am in love with the material covered in classes, I love taking biology, chemistry is my passion, and I cannot describe this feeling with word. My career goals are to go to medical school, and become a surgeon. If I get into medical school, I will be the happiest woman on earth. My concern is that I do not get into medical school, and will have problems to find a job to pay off my loans.

You can get into University of Central Florida just by transferring from Valencia College to my university. However, you need to do good in Valencia. Getting into UCF as a freshman student is a little more complicated, since you need a good high school GPA 3 or more, and a good ACT(22 or more) or SAT scores (500 or more).
College Junior 2013-08-07T04:29:31Z
I have gotten enough money to pay for my tuition, but not enough to pay for everything I need to pay for while in college so I had to accept loans to pay for everything else. I am going to take classes take most of my time, and I have no time for work, and when I tell my boss that I have little time for work, I am most likely going to get terminated. My mom is all I have to help me financially, and she has been unemployed for months. I really need money to pay for school expenses. I would recommend anyone in my situation to apply for many scholarships, or talk to financial aid people, so they guide you to what you should do.

The computers at UCF are great. They are very fast and reliable and there is almost always one available to use.
College Senior 2013-08-07T00:06:36Z
For the amount of students going to UCF parking can be miserable at times. The lots are often full by 10 in the morning and if you arrive during the middle of the day it may take you a while to get a spot.

Health & Safety:
All thought there are numerous security call buttons located around campus, I believe that there should be more security people that are walking around campus or on golf carts making sure that everyone gets to where theyre going safely. I also believe they should drive around campus patrolling parking garages and parking lots just to make sure nothing happens.
College Senior 2013-08-07T00:02:01Z
The computers at UCF are usually all used during busy times and for the amount of students on campus I believe that there should be more computers.

I don't really know a lot about Greek Life at UCF because I mainly focus on the academics. There have been hazing problems before where all Greek activities have been suspended!!

Getting information about certain scholarships (those pertaining to minorities mainly) are almost never announced. It's up to you to dig around and visit offices asking if there are any scholarships options. It's very difficult.

Guys & Girls:
This is a predominantly white, privileged college. School senate has a lot of internalized racism and sexism. There are niches for people of color and GLBTQ+ students, but they shouldn't be exclusive to niches. I highly recommend visiting Pride Commons and Multicultural student Center as they are very open agencies with friendly staff.

I don't attend the main campus, so i cant speak for them but the regional campus is very accommodating. I rated a B- because they typically close by 7pm and coming from work attending late night classes we do get hungry.
College Senior 2013-08-06T18:18:12Z
There's not much options in Florida as one might have in NYC thus making accommodations very limited
College Junior 2013-08-06T17:04:47Z
Having lived the majority of my life in South Florida I am used to the heat and rain in Central Florida. If heat and humidity isn't your thing then don't move to Florida. Summers are hot and it rains almost everyday. This is Florida. Winters are nice, it often dips to the 30's at night and the air is nice and crisp. Hurricanes sometimes mean a few days of canceled classes, but Orlando is inland enough to not worry about the storm surge causing massive flooding, just be worried about excessive winds and rain.
College Junior 2013-08-06T16:57:47Z
Depending on the day and time of your class it can be difficult, early or late classes are reasonable, but show up during the middle of the day and you might look for 20 or 30 minutes. Sometimes it is better to park further away then walk or skateboard. Permit fees are about $100 annually. Parking is strictly enforced with crews of ticket writers continuously roaming the parking lots and garages.

There is a wide variety of options to choose from UCF which makes it extremely appealing. The curriculum is straight forward and the workload can be very intense, but rewarding.
College Sophomore 2013-08-06T02:45:07Z
So far the advising staff has been great and have helped me with any questions I have had. The workload has been heavy and difficult at times, and fairly easy at others. I have enjoyed the school work and I truly believe there will be opportunities for me after I graduate.
College Sophomore 2013-08-06T02:43:32Z
The facilities are extremely up to date. The rec center especially has a lot of resources available to students. The campus itself is beautiful and I have a lot of fun just walking around and hanging out with fellow students.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
