There are plenty of intership opportunities for my major, psychology, but as a first year student, I was not into my major enough to get started on that. I certainly plan to, because I plan on getting my Ph.D., and the research studies that are conducted at UCF interest me a bunch, so assisting in these studies or conducting my own would not only give me working experience in my field, but I would also enjoy it.

Our university is trying to enforce a smoke free campus, but people get around it pretty easily without being caught. They just light a cigarette when no actual authority is around. Though if you actually do get caught smoking, you have to pay a fine. Interestlingly enough, the teachers that smoke aren't handling the news as well as the students. This is probably, because they might not get off as easily. Also, RA's of building are required to search rooms, but they only perform inspections once a semester, and you schedule with them what time they will come over. They can't open drawers, so it only applies to objects in plain sight. You have plenty of time to hide anything that should not be in your possession. All in all, my university tries its best to enforce strict rules, but with the privacy argument and the fact that it is almost impossible to offer 100% surveillance of the entire campus, students may get away with breaking the rules.

I am a hospitality major and I love it. We have our own campus (Rosen College of Hospitality Management) which is right down the road from Universal Studios and Disney World. Internships galore!

Permit costs are a bit much considering parking is usually sparse

There is always something to do at UCF, whether it's at an off-campus bar, a club, or a restaurant. Also, we have Disney and Universal on the other side of town

Off-Campus Housing at UCF is a mixed bag. There are some definite misses, but then you have some good ones (Village at Science Drive)

Haven't gone to the school yet but visitor parking sucks

You will get out of UCF exactly what you put in, if you just want to skate by not doing much work and sliding under the radar then you can do that but if you want to get the best education possible and really set yourself up for the best possible life after college, UCF has all the resources you need.

The Criminal Justice major isn't hard in the ways of course load and difficulty but the professors are really interested and passionate in their fields so they make it great!

There is plenty to eat on campus both with meal plan options and just regular dining.

Some of the nightlife that happens off campus they have bundles which includes the fee to enter a club as well as transportation to and from the club back to campus. Besides this offer there are other clubs and bars close to campus which are in walking distance but are not that far that driving would be a hassle.

University Of Central Florida strives to be diverse that is one of its main goals as a community. There are many different types of people you can meet at UCF and find your specific niche there. It is one reason why I love it so much.

I just don't really hear much about drug safety besides alcohol and they do a great job at inform the school on that.

There are tons of off campus options close to UCF that are not far or too expensive.

Orlando is the lightning capital. If it is summer time, expect a daily down pour. The rain gets in the way sometimes, but that's just mother nature. Another issue for me when I first went up there was the cold. That may sound silly but being a Miami native I was not accustomed to much of a weather change when winter time would come around.

I absolutely love the student life on campus. There are so many different areas where you will find people looking to become involved in something, exercising, just having fun, grabbing a bite to eat, and so much more. I love the newly renovated Knights Plaza, sometimes during the week I go to Meditation class and run on the track at the gym. The atmosphere at UCF is unlike any other place I have been. I must say, I cannot help but feel as though I made the best decision for me, by attending this university.

UCF is one of the largest universities in the United States. There is always something to get involved in. In my opinion, it's a great environment to be a part of.

Guys & Girls:
If one is to walk around campus they would see a diverse collection of students. Gym attire is very common to see across campus, as males walk around in their muscle shirts, to and from the gym. Fraternity attire is also typical. They look handsome, sometimes dressed in suits.

Living on campus can be pretty strict. They check dorms often, and the campus police are notorious for cracking down pretty hard on underage drinking or drunk driving. Overall UCF is pretty liberal however. They allow drinking (if of legal age) on campus and host some pretty epic tailgating parties for the home football games.

There is an abundance of campus housing around UCF. They vary in price drastically, so it is smart to shop around. Some of the lower priced apartments, as I found, are sketchy though, so it would be smart to research the crime statistics before moving in. Getting a house with some trusted friends is the best of both worlds. Pay less, more freedom, and a back yard. Do that if you can.
College Senior 2013-07-14T19:27:17Z
There is something for everyone at UCF. From clubs and bars downtown, to karaoke, to hookah lounges and live music venues, it is really hard to get bored.
College Senior 2013-07-14T19:25:44Z
I had an internship through the office of Experiential Learning at UCF. They were able to secure a paid position with a non-profit for a semester, which really helped me to get my foot in the door and gain valuable experience while getting a paycheck.
College Senior 2013-07-14T19:23:02Z
The facilities and resources at UCF are great, however some of the majors have limited faculty who teach certain core classes, limiting the options for students and forcing them to have to work harder to get a decent grade in the class.
College Freshman 2013-07-13T16:36:24Z
The amount of off-campus dining options are practically endless. Being a major tourist city, Orlando has some of the best restaurants around, not to mention city walk.
College Sophomore 2013-07-12T23:14:10Z
This is a laid back school. However underage drinkers that are caught are put through hell. Probation, essays, meetings, suspension, and fines.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
