Everything is great at my school. The athletics are great and there is a lot of school pride. Its easy to get internships and co-ops because of all the business right around UCF that are always on campus so its not harder meeting recruiters.

There are meal plans and two different dining halls on campus. There is also tons of restaurants in stuff in different area around campus such as in the student union, by the arena and in some of the classroom buildings.

The nightlife is great. There are tons of clubs and bars right down the street. All the clubs around UCF are 18 and up which is great for freshmen. The downtown club scene is better. It rows of clubs and bars but some of the clubs downtown tend to be 21 and up.

The student union is great and there is always something happening on campus. The campus itself is beautiful. There is always something being added to campus to try to improve it.
College Junior 2013-06-30T23:40:10Z
There are a lot of chain restaurants like panera and buffalo wild wings but there are a lot of discounts. Most of the surrounding restaurants have some type of student night or discount for UCF students.

Living on campus your first year is definitely the way to go. You learn where all the buildings are, all of the student offices, and you are more involved with campus activities. Although housing is a bit expensive, it's a great idea as a freshman. I would live in the Towers because they are the biggest rooms and it's like you live in an apartment with 3 other people. You have access to a washer and dryer, a refrigerator, a full bed, and more. I would say living in Apollo is the last place I would want to live because 5 people share 2 rooms and that sounds uncomfortable.

Health & Safety:
I feel very safe walking around campus, regardless of the time of day. As long as I'm not alone, I'll be fine. There are several stations you can contact security services to pick you up and take you to your destination. They are always happy to help. Thee is a police station located on campus which is very convenient to many people. When an incident occurs on campus, campus-wide emails are sent out to let each student and faculty member to be aware of. I find this helpful and a great idea.

I would say the nightlife around UCF is pretty crazy. There is always something to do, even if it's a Tuesday. You'll never get bored. Not only are clubs and bars open, there are also events on campus that everyone can attend. I always go places with friends to ensure I have a good time and get home safely.

The transportation options at UCF are great and convenient for everyone. There are several shuttle services you can take to get to apartment complexes around campus. There is also a bus that comes to campus on the weekends and if you have your UCF ID, you are able to ride it to plazas around the area.

They make you take an online quiz which includes a video presentation after you get admitted on alcohol usage and abuse to help students become aware of what alcohol can do and the pressures associated with it so that the student body can have some defense against getting caught up in the binge drinking scene surrounding every University.

The educators are always available and the extra help offered for students is excellent as long as you remember to take advantage of all those that are offered.

I received the aid I needed after filling out the necessary forms it wasn't very hard but not everyone that works in the financial aid office is well versed in all aspects of the process.

The nursing program is acceptable but finding a job in nursing is not as easy as it use to be before the economy collapsed.
College Junior 2013-06-30T10:19:45Z
I haven't had an internship and do not need one for my field. Although CNA experience helps prior to entering nursing school.

Getting into the RN-BSN program is pretty standard, compared to others.
College Junior 2013-06-30T10:10:57Z
I like how their RN to BSN program is primarily on line.

Florida weather is quite bipolar so it can be sunny one second and the next be pouring rain. Though it's mostly sunny and nice outside. However the temperature can sometimes rise above 100 and humidity up to 90%.

Greek life is very prominent at UCF. If you want to "Go Greek" UCF has plenty of opportunities and an impressive Greek Row that ought to please any future sorority or fraternity member. All the same, if you don't really care too much for Greek life you can easily avoid it and have a great time at college too.

The printing lab in the student union has very good hours, but of course it becomes very busy so it is best to go in the mornings. SGA provides you two dollars worth of free printing , renewable every sunday so it is a great tool for college students. You wont even need to buy a printer , simply go to the computer lab for all your needs. The wireless internet is all over campus in all buildings which contain classrooms as well as the student union. it works great and its extremely reliable when taking online tests or quizzes.

The situation of parking at UCF is a game of russian roulette. Either you shoot the gun and you find a spot right in front of your dormitory, or your walking two miles from the nearest parking lot near a forest where bears have been spotted walking about. Parking during class time is impossible so its better to simply accept ones fate and climb to the mount everest of the parking garage and walk to class.

The student union is absolutely beautiful . With the pegasus ballroom just steps away and an array of different food vendors , it really is the place to be wether cramming for a midterm, or meeting new friends for life. The gym, of course, is two floors and one of the most innovative inspiring places to workout. With an indoor track and multiple arenas for volleyball, basketball and even a rock wall, it really gives me courage to get fit.

The pool is a great addition but it is only open until five which doesn't appeal to hectic school schedules. The bus systems such as the knight lynx works very well but it confusing for those who are trying to get somewhere fast without the proper research. I wish they had flyers explaining the scheduling. I do enjoy that our school has a myriad of events such as spirit splash and knight raves that set us apart from all other great institutions of learning.

Not the best as far as quality inside of the apartments go in my experience and a little pricey. the huge benefit is the proximity to campus
College Senior 2013-06-29T02:02:10Z
Not too shabby. Plenty of college kids, food, and night life
Sorry, there are no reviews.
