As a food service and restaurant management major i believe that being at UCF in Orlando gives me the best opportunity to accomplish all of my goals in the restaurant industry due to the number of restaurants surrounding the university and in the Orlando/ orange county area.

Health & Safety:
The security is quick to give tickets for minor things, like a tag expiration, but they are not quick with other matters. As far as I have experienced with the health services they have been good.

The Diversity is mostly equal, almost creating a UCF culture.

I loved living on campus! UCF has some great options for on campus housing. As a freshman you have your choice of everywhere except the apartments in the Nike community. There are a variety of choices to pick from. There are plenty of rooms that you can share with a roommate or you can have your own room. all options share a bathroom. the most inexpensive option is around 2500 but even those dorms are great!

UCF is located in the midst of Orlando. Right around the campus you have lots of chain restaurants, Chili's, Applebee's, Ruby Tuesday, etc. You also have plenty of fantastic local eateries. My favorite is Lazy Moon, its a great little pizza place. Excellent pizza for a great cost! For about $6 you get a gigantic slice of pizza and a drink. A little further from campus (about 20 min) and you're in downtown. Downtown has a great variety of restaurants of varying costs. If you are looking for fine dining i suggest going to downtown or heading 20 min in the opposite direction and going to Winter park. Winter park ave is the center of a bustling little community and has some fantastic, but pricey, places to grab a bite or have a romantic dinner for two.

The majority of my schooling has been paid for via financial aid and I found the process to me rather smooth. If you follow the instruction exactly and call immediately for any questions it tends to go smooth. I always suggest if you have a question, research it first because sometimes you can get one answer from one resource, but a different answer from another.

Health & Safety:
The safety and security I believe is remarkable for a campus of its size. There is always escorts incase a person does not feel safe to get from one place to another. If a call goes in for 911, first responders, police and resuce is there almost immediately. Security is always around to ensure safety as well.

I have never had a problem with any technology at UCF. Even throughout finals week there is always an open computer that can be found on campus. The printing labs located on-campus has been amazing and I have never had any issues with it either. Sometimes it can be crowed; but is to be expected with free printing? The Wifi service however I have had some difficulties with. It will often kick you off and have to resign in ever 30 minutes or it logs you off as well.

I am not too fimilar with the On-campus Dining at UCF because I do not live on-campus. From what I have had and seen, it does offer a variety of choices with sever types of ethinics foods. However, if I am ever in a rush or want something convient, UCF does offer several places that is convient where I can pick up a quick snack or a cup of coffee. . From all the places I have eaten at they have been very swift in service with a good value of food too.

On-campus food is average, but there are plenty of good restaurants nearby
College Junior 2013-07-07T17:45:19Z
There are many bars around UCF which makes nightlife very exciting. Every place is 18 and older so everyone can pretty much get it. The local bars are fun and easy and if you are 21, downtown Orlando is only 20 min away. Since all the bars are close to campus its not hard deciding on where to go.
College Junior 2013-07-07T17:38:36Z
Drinking is more of the scene at UCF then a drug problem. Since there are many local bars around, it's more convenient to go out. I guess it all depends on who you hang out with.

The university has many computer labs available to all students. The Student Union has the main lab in the center of campus which is the most convenient. The whole campus has wifi available so you can take your computer anywhere you want. Each computer lab has printers for your use and so does the library.

Orlando is the perfect place to be living as a college student. There are endless amounts of places to choose from at every corner. All the different restaurants and fast food places you can think of are 5-10 min from the school. Waterford is the best place to go when you are hungry because that's where most of the places are. One of my favorite places to go to is California Pizza Kitchen and right next to it is a very well know Italian ice place. The prices at all these places are very reasonable for a college student.

There are many places to dine at on campus. Two of the dining halls can be used with the meal plan, and then there are many chain restaurants and other places to eat on campus.
College Freshman 2013-07-07T16:22:10Z
Orlando is a very up-beat area, so with all the attractions it includes, there are also a lot of restaurants. With the variety given, off-campus dining is never boring.

The University of Central Florida is a drug-free, no smoking campus so the Drug Safety is very high.

The atmosphere of the University of Central Florida is beautiful. It is very modern and new. The area, Orlando, is also a wonderful, populated area to be in, and there are very many attractions nearby. The students and faculty are great and the school overall is an amazing school.

Health & Safety:
On a day to day basis I do feel safe at UCF but I did feel a little uncomfortable to be on campus when the young man was found to have plans to kill his fellow roommates on campus.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
