The University of Central Florida is, fittingly, a school that’s spread across the middle of the state. Though the school is based in Orlando, there are more than 10 regional campuses in locations including Daytona Beach, Ocala, and South Lake. Freshmen at the Orlando campus are not required to live on campus and, due to limited spaces, those who hope to are encouraged to apply early for housing. There are more than 40 fraternities and sororities in the school’s large Greek system, as well as more than 300 other student organizations to consider joining. The UCF Knights compete in the NCAA Division I Conference USA.

My school is extremely welcoming. The individuals here want you to love being here as much as they do. The people here want to help you succeed and to me that is rare. The first day I stepped on this campus and met my orientation team I knew this was where i wanted to be and I made the right choice.

I get a few scholarships but I think there could be more.

I don't go to the main campus very often. I am usually at the Cocoa campus and I don't see any.

The program I am involved in is all about music performance. To be admitted I had to compete for a spot in there music classes. This was done through auditions the year before school started. The main focus was them trying to evaluate my potential.

Guys & Girls:
The group I have had the most experience with has been very preppy but outgoing and not really stuck up. These are the people I have met through Greek life.

There are some hard classes like with any major at any school but the professors are all very helpful and they push you to reach your full potential.

I am still in school but at this point I wouldn't change a single thing.

There are strict policies set in place at my school but I don't think they're taken very seriously. I see and hear kids breaking the rules all the time and nothing is done and it is frustrating. Maybe it is because no one is there to stop them, like for noise violations or something. It is hard to enforce rules when those breaking them aren't taking the system seriously.

There are buses to and from off campus housing and it is free which is nice. However you have to figure out the times and what route and where to go just to know which one to get on. I don't know where to get this information either, I think that should be made more clear. Plus I'd rather have my own car and own space than ride a bus with strangers.

There are many kinds of sports to participate in at UCF. However I am only interested in some. For example, I like yoga but most of the classes are at weird times, and it's hard to find someone to go with me. Or I like to dance but the dance clubs are either too big or too serious, when I want to exercise and have fun. We do have pretty good fan support at UCF. I do think some of the reasons people go to sport games is because they give out free things like t-shirts though.

I didn't go for the meal plan myself since I knew it was not in my budget. But aside from that, I knew that I was going to be considering all of UCF's dining options, not just the Marketplace of Knightro's. Recently though, they've made it possible to use your meal plan for fast-food venues on-campus; such as Chik-fil-a and Subway, I think even Kyoto too. UCF is as diverse in dining as it is in population. That's saying a lot!

UCF has recently become a "smoke-free" campus, with signs plastered everywhere. However, it's obvious that it's going to be awhile before students and staff really take that into consideration. We might have to wait a few years to see it actually be enforced.

Guys & Girls:
Moving in from a different city, the difference in personalities was very noticeable. The guys are pretty cute and very amiable. Always holding the door for you! The girls are mostly average, some more. They're always dressed for the occasion.

I feel like UCF is a giant melting pot. All people of all races and religions from all over the world come here. UCF does a great job with accepting a variety of students and it keeps things interesting.

When its raining you will get wet. When its 95 degrees and no breeze, you will sweat a lot. Hurricanes will get classes cancelled. If the A/C is broke, you will sweat in class.

I love healthcare and I enjoy my classes. I feel like healthcare majors need to be very well rounded and be intelligent as well as charismatic and have a lot of passion for what they do. I learn a lot from my professors and can tell that they all enjoy what they do and are very knowledgeable in the field. UCF has done a great job with selecting professors that are experienced in the profession and will help you out if you go above and beyond in their classes.

My major does not require an internship. I don't need one, but for Physician Assistant grad school, you need direct patient contact hours, and I have not heard of any internships that UCF offers that would get you direct patient contact hours. However, I have a friend who is an elementary education major and she is thoroughly enjoying her internship that UCF has gotten her.

There are a few good little bars around the UCF campus, they don't get crowded until later. The best experience will be for students 21 and up, but there are house parties in the area that are fun. The real nightlife is in downtown Orlando, about 25 minutes away. The best way to get there is with a DD, UCF occasionally has a shuttle that can get you there and back on the weekends which is great.

Guys & Girls:
There's a huge variety of people at UCF, ranging from attractive to the most unattractive, to intelligent people to "toolbags". It is a great place to people watch. There are people from every country in the world, which is another reason why I love it here. You will make friends of all different types.

There are dozens of restaurants directly off-campus. Huge variety. You can go to Del Taco for 99c tacos, Steak'n'Shake for a late night shake, ethnic places, nice sit-down places...whatever you are feeling up to will be easy to find within five miles of campus.
College Junior 2013-06-20T05:28:23Z
The weather is very warm much of the year. I wear summer dresses or shorts and am comfortable walking around campus dressed casually. Winter time merits a jacket and scarf but is still pretty moderate.

Guys & Girls:
The University of Central Florida is the second largest school in the nation. There's not really a way to rate the guys and girls here due to the fact that you can, and will, meet every single type of person regardless of gender.

The computers are up to date and run well, and the availability really isn't bad. Lots of students including myself bring their own laptops or tablets, and the WiFi is great.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
