I love the plethora of scholarships that are offered at UCF, I always try to get every scholarship I can because it is a great opportunity to lower the cost of classes and other expenses. The UCF scholarship page has scholarship opportunities for just about anybody.

If you stay on campus and live in a dorm I advise you to get a meal plan even though its a little costly but if you stay off campus you really shouldn't get one but the food is great.

The campus of UCF is extremely large as well as the student body. The facilities of UCF are very organized but might be a bit hard to find at times. I like the size of the campus and student body because it adds a touch of diversity to the school and also makes UCF feel like a small community.

The dorms at UCF are great they are near everything you need and the housing process is really smooth. I really enjoyed staying in Hercules because the pool was nearby and gym was right in front of it. I give the social atmosphere an A+ because as a male there were always girls around looking for something to do.

I believe that if you get to campus at a certain time, then parking is relatively easy to find. If there is some sort of event going on, then parking is much harder to find but it is very possible. There are several garages that students and staff can park in which makes it more convenient to find parking.
College Junior 2013-05-30T15:42:32Z
The cost for a parking pass pretty expensive but it's worth if you stay off campus and your always on campus for like class, the gym or other activities like sporting events. It takes a while to find a good parking spot so show up early.

U of Central Florida is in an ever so busy environment, Orlando makes anything possible, entertainment wise.
College Senior 2013-05-29T22:18:38Z
There really is not much tradition due to lack of background. Other than that its a pretty, and always entertaining campus. I love it!

When it's hot, it's really hot! It rains a lot during the summer, but we don't have much of a 'winter' so that would be a nice break for people from up north

The campus buses are very reliable and have a set course that is easy to follow. There are also cars that you can borrow/rent that have a parking spot right on campus. Also, if you are out late and feel uncomfortable making it back to your place, there is a number you can call and they will escort you back to where you live free of charge.

Health & Safety:
UCF does a great job at making their students feel secure. Students are given a list of different numbers that they are able to call for safe rides, escorts to assist them across campus or for the local police. The campus has many lights for night time. I have never felt unsafe at school.

There are many different students who attend this university. I have come to realize that there are a wide variety of students in each and every class that I am in.

Orlando is a densely populated area, so there are plenty of options to choose from when it comes to dining. Fast food, Walk-in restaurants, Deli's, you name it, we've got it. It might not be the most gourmet food you'll eat, but it tastes good and it fills you up at a reasonable price.

While for engineers, UCF is a good choice, overall I feel the school has sacrificed size for quality. UCF is a very easy university to get into, which has led to a very large attendance population, which in my opinion is too large. Our faculty to staff ratio is poor and I feel as though that hinders the effectiveness of the university, especially when you regularly get classes with over 200 people in them. As for the faculty themselves, I have had trouble learning from the majority of my professors. A few of them seemed as if sometimes they were unsure about what they were teaching, which led them to teach right from the book, which does not help us students to grasp the concepts at hand. I think UCF has the potential to be a great university, if only it held itself to a higher standard.

I do not participate in the athletics department but the Recreation and Wellness Center is incredible and has so much to do! You can even get a workout on the rock climbing wall.

As an Engineering major, UCF is an awesome school to attend. It may not be the best or most difficult college to take classes at, but I believe the classes leave us with all the information we will need to be successful engineers. In addition to this, the university also has several connections and affiliations with engineering companies which allow us engineering majors to get interns and gain experience while we are still in school.

There are so many great and convenient Off-Campus places to dine around the University of Central Florida. The only downfall to these restaurants is that UCF is such a highly populated school that the traffic surrounding these restaurants makes your commute time longer than it takes you to order and eat your food which can put a damper on your lunch when you only have a little bit of time before your next class starts.
College Junior 2013-05-29T15:30:17Z
There are several free parking garages to choose from but unfortunately it can be difficult at times to find spots.
College Junior 2013-05-29T15:26:28Z
There are many options but after a while they get boring, although they keep opening new restaurants which is good. Overall there are many options
College Junior 2013-05-29T15:24:32Z
The athletics facilities seem to be well done and there are many all around campus. The students can use they as they please
College Junior 2013-05-29T15:21:40Z
There are many different computer labs and they open through out the day. These labs are very reliable and they have different options for computer and many printers which are mostly free to print

I do really know much about off-campus housing, so I do not have anything to say only that it is cheaper than on-campus housing.
College Junior 2013-05-29T14:49:59Z
UCF is a huge campus but it still does not take away from the kindness students express to each other. It is a very carefree campus and there is a lot of school spirit here.

I'm in the College of Sciences to study Anthropology. This is a decent program that offers some variety in classes, but I wish it was better. The Anthropology department focuses on Mayan archaeology because of Dr. Chase. The work load can sometimes be a bit much, but it is worth it in the end because you learn a lot. All of the professors have Ph.Ds and have published a lot. They are very helpful when it comes to advising and mentoring too.
College Junior 2013-05-29T14:42:41Z
I came to the University of Central Florida because it has a decent Anthropology program, but they specialize in engineering and health services. The campus has a great atmosphere and UCF really does offer a lot. The professors I have had so far really care about their students and are willing to put in the effort to help them. I do not recommend taking Foreign Language classes here because if you do not have any previous experience then you will not do well. They do not take the time to explain every detail like they do in high school so beware. Overall, I still think that UCF is a great school and it is really easy to get into. There are a lot of perks that you receive, like discounts for attractions, free concert tickets, etc. I think it is worth it to come here.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
