Considering UCF is steadily becoming more and more renown, there isn't really a large variety of available off-campus housing and the ones that are available are relatively expensive.

Like in most universities, UCF has a good amount of capable police officers throughout the campus that will easily and will definitely enforce any and all policies placed by the campus administrators.

At UCF, there is a large variety of races, religious background and sexual orientation but it is easy to see that UCF is intensely fighting for their students to be more open minded and be able to fully immerse themselves into all of the diverse groups UCF offers.

Because the school is so large they offer a decent amount of student scholarships which you can find on their website.

There's two fairly large computer labs that you can visit if you need to use a computer and don't have your own. Also multiple places where you can print things out either for free or very cheap.

It's a huge university (I believe we're over 30,000 on the main campus now) so diversity is obviously not something you need to worry about. You'll meet people from every state as well as mayn foreign countries on a consistent basis.

Weak Frats – Compared to most schools I've visited, the frat parties are a bit lacking. While the occasional banger will be thrown (maybe once a semester), the frats don't know how to get down and usually consist of their usual small clicks plus a few extra girls they've sprinkled in to take advantage of. They could take a few pointers from some SEC school frats that's for sure. Stick to the house parties and main bars if you want to have fun.

Ucf's website has a link to a majority of the available scholarships at the time. In fact, that's how I found out about this scholarship. My only complaint is that sometimes scholarship applications and disbursements have to be regularly checked on, so no errors occur. However, it is well worth the effort if it helps with paying for school. Every little amount helps.

We have a on-campus police force that does an excellent job in controlling and preventing drug use on the campus. I have yet to see any examples of peer pressure. I have seen controlled drinking, but only because there is a restaurant on campus that serves alcohol.

The weather at UCF is usually pleasant. The clear skies and light breeze really uplift the morals of the student body. The weather really does reflect the overall attitude at the university.

They do a good job in promoting sports and the camaraderie of the entire student body in order to facilitate support for our varsity team. Our workout facilities meets every students' needs, no matter what level of athleticism they are at.

UCF is very accepting of diversity. There is so much diversity in regards to all the aspects listed above.

Restaurants off-campus are typical. The prices are reasonable, and most places offer a student discount.

Great athletic programs. Students are very involved in most sporting events. There is a lot of school spirit both on an off campus.

The scholarships at the school are great. They have provided help for me even when I wasn't looking for it.

Transportation on campus is not that bad. Students have easy/inexpensive access to transportation around the school and available for a great portion through out the day/evening. Students can also use the transportation locally to get to areas in the vicinity of the school grounds but for longer distance traveling students will need to take either public transportation or have a vehicle.

Greek life at this school is not bad at all the sororities at the school keep the campus alive and they are always involved in doing things that will help improve the school. Not just about partying 24/7.

It is hot hot hot. Over the summer Orlando can tend to be bipolar and have random rain storms that last only five minutes and then the sun will come out like nothing ever happened.

There are so many options to eat. If you don't have a meal plan there are tons of good places such as Subway and Chick-fil-a.

Guys & Girls:
Students are well dressed and well mannered. Everyone has great school spirit. Both boys and girls are helpful in assisting new freshmen and transfer students.

I would say the athletics at UCF are amazing. They offer so many different types of sporting events that it gives everybody a chance to join in. Being a university they have a fantastic recreation center including a rock climbing wall and inside running track. UCF uses the power generated from the treadmills to power the electricity inside the gym which I thought was rather cool. Trying to join a sports does not seem too difficult either. UCF offers sports at high levels, intermediate and even beginners levels, which is great for any new comers. The gym at UCF is always busy and I think it is great that they are open so late at night, especially for people who have to work a lot.

Guys & Girls:
There are many types of both guys and girls at the University of Central Florida. I, myself am an international student from the UK ( United Kingdom). I have noticed that most people who attend UCF as in fact from Florida or not very far away. Many people attend UCF due to the location and the fact that it is within easy access to many community colleges and high school. Most of the guys are athletic, and I think the weather has a lot to do with it. Being in such a hot place during the summer, the guys all like to impress the girls and so spend a lot of time working out in the gym. The girls are all very friendly, of course there are going to be clicks like with every school, but I believe UCF overall is a very friendly environment.

The weather in Florida is mostly great. The summer can be a bit uncomfortable with such high temperatures but overall students make the most of it! Often students study outside by the reflection pond and take great advantage of the trees for shade. Inside the campus is always air conditioned which is also very helpful! The only disadvantage about the weather is that in the summer, most, if not every afternoon there are thunderstorms making getting around campus very difficult, unless you are prepared to get very wet!
College Junior 2013-06-11T18:40:50Z
I do not live on campus due to cost but have often visited friends living on campus. I like how some of the campus housing has great facilities for example pools, bike racks etc. These can prove very helpful to students.
I think that there needs to be more bike racks though because often students run out of space and cannot leave their bikes anywhere and so have to take them into their dorms, which just makes the housing area more crowded.
College Junior 2013-06-11T18:37:08Z
I would say that the parking permit for UCF main campus is expensive but saying that there is usually somewhere to park. Often spaces fill up quickly around busy times, for example mornings and lunchtimes but in the evenings it is much easier to find a space. I am lucky enough that I attend UCF's Rosen Campus where the parking is free! I am very grateful for this, although have had to purchase a main campus parking decal for when I want to go up to main campus for special events and to visit friends.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
