Advice
- An internship aims to make your transition from academic life to the real world easier and less overwhelming while gaining you experience towards your career. It’s possible to earn academic credit while doing an internship. Your academic department can determine whether you will receive credit or not. It’s also possible to have a paid internship. The organization that you intern for will decide this. The first step to securing an internship is to make an appointment with the Internship Coordinator in your college. A list of the coordinators names, phone numbers, e-mails, and office numbers can be found on the career resource Web site address at www.crc.ucf.edu/home. The next step to securing an internship is to register with the UFC Career Resource Center’s Gold Connection to access internships available through a list of employers. Make a habit of stopping by the Career Resource Office and finding out what events they’re holding for the current month. The workshops and counseling that they offer to students are free and very helpful.
