UCF is considered a metropolitan university, but it honestly doesn't feel that way. I love that our surrounding area feels like a college town, and yet the glamour of downtown is only 20 minutes away. While there is a lack of overall school spirit in this town, there is a plethora of things to do---that's for sure.

I love the atmosphere around UCF. There is so much to do! Universal, Disney, downtown, and local areas are always packed with people, and there is always something going on to participate in. I would stay away from OBT and the underclass downtown areas at night, but I would do that anywhere. Valencia Community College is nearby, as is Rollins. I never see the Rollins students but interact frequently with the Valencia kids.

Everyone has heard of Disney and Universal Studios, and students get discounts on tickets to the theme parks. Orlando has a lot to offer, and if you are adventurous, there will be many opportunities for fun. If visiting, the best thing to do is to get an understanding of how the highways work. It can be very confusing and stressful on the road if you do not know where you are going.
