Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

By a majority vote, living off campus isn’t just the right way to go, it’s the only way. UCF is a huge commuter school with most of its students living off campus in either apartments or houses. In and around the UCF area, it’s easy to find what suits you and your budget. Many complexes are geared towards student housing and offer individual leases for each tenant. Apartments can offer you what dorms can’t—your own washer and dryer, your own bedroom and bathroom, balconies, clubhouses, and many other amenities.

Apartments are conveniently located next to campus; some are as close as one mile away. Living off campus is convenient and more private. Off-campus living is very social; many students meet their friends through being neighbors and bumping into each other in their complexes. Off-campus living is strongly recommended.

Not Bad at All

The off campus housing is very nice, having many accommodations for a multitude of people. It is, however, in my perspective, a bit to far away from the actual campus. Since the University of Central Floridas campus is so large, it takes a while to go from the off campus housing to the actual inner parts of the school.

Pegasus Landing

Pegasus Landing was cheap and convenient, though it have it's downfalls. For a freshman coming in, it will provide a cheap place that will find roommates for you. My last year at this complex, it had a mold issue; they have since remodeled.

Wide Variety of Choices

The off-campus housing selection ranges from new apartments built with-in the past year, which can be pricer, to older apartments, which save students money. Most students have pools and allow you to roommate match, which is a great feature. Another great pro about off-campus housing is most complexes have UCF shuttle, which saves students the hassle of parking and saves money for gas. However, a con with off-campus housing is a majority of student complexes have caps on utilites, which can add to an additional charge at the end of the month for overages.
