Wouldn't Want to Be Anywhere Else

I've visited other schools (University of Florida, University of Miami, Florida State University, etc) and honestly, nothing is comparable to the University of Central Florida. This school is in the center of everything! There's so much to do both on and off-campus, and there's so many clubs you can join. The environment is great. I see UCF as a very modern school that is going to keep on progressing and growing as time goes by. Trust me when I say I am in the right place.

Campus Crime (Or Lack Thereof)

At The University of Central Florida, we have an on campus precinct where police are constantly patrolling the area and preventing any trouble from taking place. They are available to students and faculty. There is also a service provided to students that offers a security patrol that will drive a student to their car or dorm after dusk as opposed to walking alone. Their services make a student feel safe. Especially when they notify you of suspicious packages in certain garages and announce the appearances, as well as the names, of sexual offenders. Their safety and security programs are immensely convenient.

FOOD

UCF offers a wide variety of dinning options on camps. There's a subway and smoothie place in the gym. Theres a mexican food stand near the library. There's a cafe in the library and the bookstore. There's over 10 different restaurants to chose from in the student union including staples like burger king and sbarro, but also including 1 asian place, 1 sushi place, quadoba, smoothie king, a sports bar, greek food, and everything inbetween. Then there are two dining halls located on campus that offer great meals when taking advantage of the meal plan. Also, by the stadium there is a plaza on campus that offers a 24/7 dominos pizza, another asian restaurant, jimmy johns subs, and a frozen yogurt place. There are endless options on campus.

No Internership

I haven't had any internship as of yet but I would love to go to one. I am looking forward to the experience more than anything. Finding and internship is quite difficult because I do not know who to go to for one. I would love an internship would keep me in their office for at least an year and had me do things that an employee would do.

Great School Spirit

Although our sports teams are not the best, the students seem to support all areas. Many people attend both football and basketball games from what I have noticed. I am sure that soccer and volleyball games are also regulary attended.

Off-Campus Housing

The University of Central Florida has a great selection of off-campus housing options. My roomates and I are residence at Arden Villas just a half-mile from the main campus. Our 2 bedroom 2 bath apartment is very spacious and includes a kitchen and laundry room along with a full size living room. The rent is reasonable and affordable and cost less then most on campus housing options. I highly recomend off campus housing at UCF.

Dining Options

There are two main dining halls on campus, each on one side of campus. This makes it easy for students to choose which is nearest to them to make it more convenient. There is also a food court in the middle of campus located in the union. You have a variety of food to choose from here like pizza, salads and sandwiches.

UCF Nightlife

Nightlife at UCF is for students who are 18 and up. The school has plenty of house parties and tailgating at football games is always a good way to party and let loose. UCF provides a free bus service for students to travel from downtown back to campus so students have the opportunity to go to local bars and clubs. Most clubs in Orlando are 18 and up except for a few bars which are 21 and up. Every month UCF has an event called Late Knights which usually consists of concerts, games, and fun activities to do in a safe environment. Overall nightlife at this school is great and I guarantee that you will have a great time!!!

No Better Place Than Chick Fil-A

The first time i went to the university of central florida, known to most of us as UCF, i felt like i was at the food court at a mall. There were so many restaurants nearby the school that if you were to pick a restaurant to eat everyday for the time you're at the school, you'd never run out of places to go. But my favorite one is Chick-fil-A, besides their wonderful tasty chicken, they have an amazing milkshake that comes every summer. Well i'm probably biased since i loved them, but there are other and cheaper places like mcdonald, wendy's, steak and shake. i guess you cannot go wrong because the campus itself is full of amazing places you can.

Lots of Restaurants

There are a great number of good restaurants around UCF area. Sometimes you don't even know which restaurant you should go to because most of them are so good. My favorite place is Panera Bread. My group and I usually spend a lot of time here discussing our school work and projects while eating some good meals at the same time. We have had a good time there. The prices at the restaurants around UCF area are fairly good for students.

Campus

Living on campus is manageable but not ideal. I think its good for students to have a work life balance and living on campus feels like all school all the time. It is better for students development to live elsewhere.

Something for Everyone

There are clubs in the area that are 18 and up; 21 and up; and there are places to go for the grown and sexy crowd. There is always a house party going on and night transportation for students that drink so they won't drive home.

Off-Campus Housing, Not Expensive!

Off-campus housing is pretty sweet for what you're getting. Most of the apartments include all amenities, so you won't have to pay for the water or electricity bill.

A Never-Ending Competition

It seems like everyone on campus is trying to outdo one another when it comes to fashion, play, and partying. I see too many Ed Hardy and Jersey Shore wannabes, too many frat bros or "fros". It just seems like alot of the students there are for the wrong reason, you're there for an education not to show off how much you can drink or your new spray tan.

Off Campus Housing

The off campus housing is really nice at UCF. UCF even offers free transportation to students who live off campus and that is very nice for people who don't have vehicles.

Apartments Are Pricey!

Off-campus housing is pretty pricey and not at all that glamourous. Granted they are very close to campus, one can travel by bicycle, however, most rooms available are 4 bedrooms, so if you are looking for a little more privacy it will be challenging!

Dining on Every Corner

Their are so many dining options that the average four year student will not have enough time to visit each resturant. Convenience is emplified with numerous restuarants walking distance to the campus and its affiliated apartments. The one thing missing from this area is a health food store. The only nearby options for groceries are publix and walmart which do not entirely cater to the organic, allergen free or local produce markets.

Convenience

It is very convenient to live on campus, because finding parking is one of the main issue of this university. Living on campus make for less tardiness, and more involvement in on campus activities.

Off-Campus Housing Is Amazing!

I live in the apartments off campus and the housing is amazing!! The buses are so efficient and always get me to school on time for my classes! I don't have a car so it's most definitely an amazing way to get to school!

Living at Home While Attending School Saves BIG

Personally, I live off campus, at my Parents home. Attending a University that is local is a convenient, and cost effective way to live. Because of this, i have less experience than most students at the housing process on cmapus. I have many friends that live on/ near campus, though, and find most experiences to be above average. It is generally easy to find housing the distance you desire from the school (E.g., some prefer actually liveing on campus, some want to be slightly removed from campus life when they get "home" for the day.) There are a wide range of places to choose from, including a new and clean "eco-friendly" housing complex right off of campus- walking distance even. Even though UCF is an enormous school with well over 57,000 students, campus housing and activities are never lacking; there's always some place to go with a positive social atmosphere. I have no experience or have not heard anything from people about the cost of housing, but I assume it's decently reasonable, as the market in the area is a buyer/ renters market at the moment.

Mix of Everything

There are cute girls,but you also see girls that are nothing compared to that.

Late Knights

Night life, or should I say Knoght life is great! Every month UCF hosts this event called Late Knights where we the students can come out and enjoy free food (Jimmy Johns, Fried chichen, etc.)music (DJ in the arena), activities (paintings, video games, paintings etc) and tons of giveaways. This is possibly my favorite part about late knight activities. UCF has mastered it.

Spirited

There are a lot of options and different levels for students and their choices of athletics at UCF. There is college level where students can play for the school, then there are clubs, and intramural sports as well. The choices of sports in my opinion are unlimited.. I don't think there is a sport not listed at UCF. We have a huge fan support, especially for football games. On game day you will see just about every student in our school colors, along with a lot of outside people who come to join us in support for our team.

Sports Rule the School

varsity sports are supported by everyone in and outside campus, the team is outstanding and they represent our pride on the field for UCF, everybody at school has the opportunity to exercise in amazing facilities.
