Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

Orlando is a sprawling metropolitan area with lots to do and many ways to get there. From the city bus line and the Lynx to local taxi companies, there’s a quick, easy, and affordable ride for every student.

Travel to and from campus is also convenient and available when classes are in session. Although the transportation in Orlando is more than reliable, it’s a definite advantage to have a car. Either that, or try to find a friend who has one. Hey, at least we’re honest.

Pros and Cons

While parking on campus can be a problem, I've never had an issue. There is free parking if you're willing to walk a SHORT distance and there are shuttles! Fall in love with them. There is the Black and Gold lines that run throughout the week on campus. These buses circle the campus to pick you up and drop you off nearest to your destination! There are also shuttles that run to some apartment complexes, if you really wanted to you could just park in a visitor's spot at one of the apartment complexes and hop on the bus for a free ride to campus! (well, it's technically not free you've already paid for it with tuition)

Skateboarding and Biking Makes It Easier

The campus is extremely large, and getting from point A to point B can be very difficult. There are buses, that can help the people that have time to wait around for the buses to come and drop them off, but the easiest ad fastest mode of transportation is easily skateboarding or bilking. They can be parked outside of buildings or brought in, and it makes it so you move twice the speed of walking.

Learn to Longboard

Getting anywhere on the UCF campus is like a journey and a half. The bus system is not very reliable so either longboarding or biking to your desired destination would be your best bet.
