They only offer loans no aid available.

campus life is pretty regular. there's some cleaning help once in a while and students are expected to keep organized,

some students partake all the time. they are the ones who don't take school to serious. then the others are the more serious ones who don't have time to drink and party.

The school is pretty strict with dress codes and how students respect teachers, other wise they are pretty easy to deal with

Obviously, as with any other university, alcohol is the dominant "drug". If you are not interested in drinking it doesn't have to affect you, my freshman year I never was exposed if I didn't want to be. Personally, I do not drink but I would still hang with friends that did. I was never really pressured into it, or made uncomfortable because I didn't.

Guys & Girls:
Not exactly a social butterfly...I spend lots of time studying rather than trying to hook-up or find a girlfriend. I pay to go to school and get a degree not have relationships.

Typical Ohio weather. Just be prepared to deal with it, from summer humidity to the cold of winter.

I do not participate in Greek life so I really can't attest to the benefits/downsides.

Health & Safety:
On campus is generally pretty safe, and as far as I know there are relatively few problems. Those problems arise as soon as you venture off campus however. The area immediately off campus is not one you want to mess around in and definitely not one you want to venture into at night by yourself.

I'm not a huge fan of the scholarship system at the school. Based on your high school achievement you are invited to a "scholarship competition" senior year to "compete" for scholarship dollars. I was really confused as to how any of the activities could truly determine who deserved the scholarship dollars, but nonetheless I participated. What is disappointing is that whatever amount you are awarded freshman year is what you are locked into for the duration of your time at UC, regardless of how much better or worse you perform at the collegiate level than your peers.

The housing is expensive like any other university, but there are plenty of options and I have generally had pretty good experiences. Ultimately your experience will be what you make of it.

Lots to do on and off campus. There are some pretty unsafe areas that immediately surround the campus, but if you are smart and avoid the trouble areas then it is a great place to be.

I rate my experience so highly because I am very satisfied with the structure of the engineering program at UC. The program is phenomenal and sets students up to be very well-prepared for life after college. In addition to the academics, I love the campus and the facilities which are all fairly new and there are constantly new things being built up here.

Most of the places students would NEED to go to are within walking distance of campus. If you want to venture any further there are both options of taking the school's bus system or the city's public bus system. I didn't have a car freshman year and I did just fine, it becomes a little more inconvenient to go home for a weekend if you wanted, but I didn't do it that often so it wasn't bad.

Sports are great at UC, the student involvement is always at a high level. In recent years, the football and basketball programs especially, have been performing very well and are quite entertaining to watch.

I am not a huge party goer. It seems like there are some weekends with lots happening and others when nothing is going on. The school provides a late night transportation system that can be called and provides free transportation for students. This is a really cool system and keeps students safe.

Off-campus housing is really hit or miss. There are some good locations with lots of amenities and are in fairly safe areas. These options tend to be quite expensive however. The more affordable an option becomes, the less safe the neighborhood becomes. It really comes down to how much you are willing to sacrifice in safety to save in cost.

It's a great experience that I think we all should have.

Parking is way over priced and slots are limited. Off campus area is dangerous so parking is at your own risk.
