Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

Although the University is known for its athletics, it also has a great reputation for academics. The faculty and staff truly care about students succeeding, and that’s exactly why UC is home to some of the best programs in the world. And, each year, the programs and colleges continue to get even better. Across the board, faculty and staff are willing to help students obtain the best education possible. It’s hard to find a professor who isn’t willing to meet with students outside class. Whether they are holding group review sessions for exams or one-on-one conferences during their office hours, professors generally make themselves available for students who need guidance and advice. At UC, professors are students' biggest supporters and truly want them to succeed.

Workload varies based on a student’s major. Students in the College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning are notorious for being swamped with classwork, but for other students, it depends on the class and professor. After your first few classes, you’ll get an idea of how much time needs to be put into each class and which professors work best with your learning needs. There are many different courses with plenty of different time commitments and professors, so do your research and feel free to ask around about them before you finalize your schedule. Most students will give you the scoop about a professor or a class.
