Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

The student population is diverse, making it easy to find a guy or girl who fits your taste. Plus, UC students have their own style and personalities, so no two students are the same. Most students are in relationships or are looking to find someone special. Of course, there are guys and girls who want to hook up randomly, but it’s not overwhelming. People who choose to have one-night stands or friends with benefits aren’t treated any differently, and neither are people who choose not to have casual sex.

When it comes to UC guys, the variety is practically endless. There are skateboarders, rockers, bookworms, frat guys, jocks, exchange students, and people who fit in the middle. Overall, the guys are good looking, down to earth, and respectful. The girls are also diverse and generally friendly. Most girls you meet on campus aren’t cliquey and will befriend people who are not like them. Some sorority girls tend to stick together and don’t seem to want to associate with people outside Greek life, which is disheartening, but there are plenty of other girls who will reach out and be friends with anyone. Most girls are good looking, and there is a good variety of hot chicks, girl-next-door types, and everything in between. The girls at UC aren’t really promiscuous—they are laid back and tend to look for relationships rather than hookups.

Guys & Girls at UC

Most of the guys dress the same. Either preppy, hipster, or just don't care. The girls do the same thing as well. It isn't too diverse in that regard. I'd say the girls are average looking. Socially most people go to the sporting events that UC provides or parties around UC's campus.

Student Life

The other students are like everyday average people. There isn't much of a difference between the students on campus and my friends back home.

Typical Student

The guys are attractive and really into partying, but there's also many guys that are cute and nerdy too. The girls vary from skaters, to preppy, to country girls. It has a very diverse student body. I feel like there's a social group for every type of person here.

How would you rate the social scene on campus?

Facts

Social Scene

The social scene here is as diverse as the student body. Some people are more into the party scene, but this scene tends to stay off campus. Since UC is a dry campus, students tend to take their social gatherings off campus to area restaurants, bars, and parties.

Hookups or Relationships?

Although some UC students have random hookups, a majority of students seem to be in relationships. Upperclassmen students especially tend to be in relationships or engaged/married.

Best Places to Meet Guys/Girls

Getting involved in a club or organization on campus is an ideal way to meet people with similar interests and to find people you may be interested in dating. Some students meet their significant others or hookups in bars or at parties where some of the “hotties” are generally found. If the nightlife scene isn’t your deal, it’s possible to meet someone through one of your classes.

Dress Code

There is an equal amount of variety in how students dress. Some keep up with the latest fashions, so you’ll see plenty of designer labels—including handbags, ladies—being worn by students. For those on a budget, it’s perfectly acceptable to wear a pair of jeans and a T-shirt. In the warmer months, students break out their hottest outfits—girls wear dresses, tiny shorts, and skirts, while guys sport muscle shirts and shorts. Flip-flops are common footwear here, even in the colder months. In the winter, don’t be afraid to dress down. Most people roll straight out of bed to face the dreary weather, so sweatpants, boots, and hooded sweatshirts are popular. Comfort is ideal and so is keeping warm. Don’t worry, nobody will judge you if you save your best fashion pieces for when the weather is gorgeous. It’s too ugly outside in the winter to get dolled up, and many times it’s hard to be pretty when you’re trying to stay warm.
