University of Cincinnati: Top Ten Most Beautiful Campuses in the Nation

University of Cincinnati was currently voted one of the top ten most beautiful campuses in the nation and it's true. It has a mix of modern and traditional architecture that makes it very beautiful to looks out. The campus is located in a small city so there are many small restaurants that are of walking distance to the campus. Unfortunately outside of campus isn't as beautiful or safe as the outside, so make sure you don't wander around by yourself late at night.

The people at UC are very friendly and the college has a very organized system so it's very easy to to get help on financial aid or any school related matters. The college of Design, Architecture, Art and Planning is one of the best design and architecture schools in the nation and hold a lot of events to go to. There is also a lot of different recreation activities such as tennis, volleyball, dodgeball leagues ets. If you want to go somewhere outside of campus, it's very near the heart of Cincinnati where theres plenty of shopping and resturaunts. There is also the art museum and Kings Island if you like roller coasters. Overall it's a great school to go to I highly recommend attending University of Cincinnati.

Academic Review

The academic programs that are very diverse. I chose to attend the University of Cincinnati due to the many programs they offered. The professors are well respected and go out of their way in order to make sure that there students succeed. The curriculum can be challenging, but that is what college is supposed to be.

Go Bearcats!

The athletic atmosphere at University of Cincinnati is great! UC has the amazing Nippert Stadium, Fifth Third Arena, Marge Schott Stadium, and many other fine athletic facilities. The Rec Center is great for athletes and students who want to stay in shape. There are a variety of intramural sports in which students can participate. UC students love their Cincinnati Bearcats athletes, as they proudly show by wearing red and black on Bearcat Fridays. The student turnout on game days is amazing. Go Bearcats!!

Beautiful Urban Campus

The University of Cincinnati has been selected as one of Forbes.com's most beautiful campuses in the world, and for good reason. UC was founded in 1819, so it is a very old educational establishment. While much of the campus is new, with buildings from famous architects like Frank Gehry, Peter Eisenman, and Michael Graves, UC has very carefully blended the old with the new. Classrooms are well equipped, the rec center is phenomenal, there are plenty of computer labs, several library facilities, a wonderful student center, and several food options.

The students at UC are very diverse. Talk a walk around campus and you see people from many different countries. This diversity, I believe, gives the students here a better understand and respect for people from different countries with different beliefs.

House Parties Are Better Than Frats

The frat parties at UC generally aren't that great unless you are really active in the Greek system. A few of the local bars can be pretty fun, but the real scene is in house parties.

UC Is a Great School!

UC is located in the heart of Clifton, in Cincinnati Ohio, and has a beautiful campus. The activities are endless with intramural sports, greek life (although not HUGE), and so many events that take place throughout the whole year. The safety is increasingly been taken care of, of course with it being in the city there is crime surrounding campus but as for on campus there isnt anything that happens within the "walls" of campus, infact it is safe (but not recommended) to walk around alone on campus at night. Tons of shopping within walking and driving about 10 minutes distance. Tons of events and clubs that happen! THe sporting events are very lively and the support of the community is amazing in that so many people in Cinci love their bearcats! UC is a respected school and people that attend the school are respected highly, it is a wonderful school and very very diverse in cultural backgrounds. People from all over the world, literally, come to UC, especially for the DAAP program which is world renown. The architecture UC has is beautiful and gives a serene feel and the landscape is very peaceful and makes for a wonderful college campus!

Nothing Special

I came to UC on scholarship, with that being one of only a few reasons that I selected the school over my longtime dream of attending the Ohio State University. I came here expecting good facilities, based upon the claims of many students from my high school. However, the facilities are extremely lackluster and are nothing special. They are what you'd expect out of a decent, not great college. You would expect better facilities from even a "good" school. Color me disappointed.

Catholic High Schools

There is no spot on the FASFA for a parent to put that they have students in private, catholic high school. It assumes that the children are attending public schools. It says that you can email the school if you want and let them know of your situation, but that is too much of a hassle and UC is public so they may not care. Private tuition may be seen as a privilege, but when compared to the option of the Cincinnati public school system, there is no other choice but to attend private. I wish the FASFA or UC had a place for this on the financial aid application because I have two sisters in high school and their tuition is almost as much as mine.

Chi Omega is a Great Sorority

Each and every Chapter on the University of Cincinnati's campus as great benefits - it depends on the personality of the new member and what activities they would like to be involved in. I was an active member of Chi Omega for 4 years before graduating with my Bachelor's. Chi Omega helped me to get more involved and allowed me to find myself to be the woman I am today. Obviously, students go to college to specialize in an area, and if you are obtaining good grades, then you might want to think about something else. If a woman isn't earning good grades to meet the GPA requirements, then yes, the active sisters will always be there to tutor or help with study tables. Each chapter on campus has grade requirements set by their National Headquarters to ensure the best for the chapter and for the young woman. Even as an alumna, we are actively involved with helping out the active chapter during recruitment and homecoming, and I honestly don't remember WithLuvTrish at all, so I highly doubt she was ever really there or a "pledge" that long. If we want high grades for our women, along with having to keep stern about the requirements of membership, then I guess it just didn't work out for her. I would not be where I am today without Chi Omega and it is always the best decision I made about my college life.

Response to WithLoveTrish's review of Chi Omega

In response to WithLoveTrish's review of University of Cincinnati Chi Omega; I have the up most respect for the women of Chi Omega at the University of Cincinnati. There is no more accepting sorority. Chi Omega accepts women of different religions and ethnicities, different political views, different majors, different styles of dress and hair color, it all part of how they grow and learn from each other. They truly work together as a group for the common good and for the good of each other, always helping each other to achieve their best and grow to their fullest potential. It may seem "demanding" to girls like Trish, but if you ask any alumnae of this chapter they will tell you they would not be the strong, smart, independent woman they are now without the guidance and nourishment of Chi Omega. To these women that put in the time and effort they find not friends but sisters that are there for them not just during their college years but throughout their life.

It saddens me that Trish was not able to find this. I am familiar with this situation and maybe if Trish would have put in the time and commitment, and had the willingness to try to get to know these girls she would have a different opinion.

It also saddens me that after all of the hard work and dedication that the women of Chi Omega put into making themselves and their chapter the best it can be (winning Greek Week, Premier Sorority on Campus, President of the Year and Greek Woman of the Year) that something like this is able to be put out there by someone who can barely call them self a Chi Omega.

The Queen City

Cincinnati isn't a huge city, but it's my city. I've lived in the Cincinnati area practically my whole life, and there is a lot to do here! There is always the Cincinnati Reds or Cincinnati Bengals games. There are tons of resteraunts, concert venues and even great nightlife! Xavier University, Cincinnati State and Northern Kentucky University are all within twenty minutes of the main campus. There is also great school spirit within our university. Since our football team played in the Sugar Bowl last year, our student season passes have already sold out!

What I love about UC is the range of people it draws. There are about 30,000 students, and you see all sorts - the drama kids, the hipsters, the goths, the christians, the jocks - you can find pockets of more concentrated steriotypes if you are in one of the more specific colleges sometimes - like the school of art, or the music conservatory, but for the most part, you meet a wide range of people in classes.

Greek Life Seems Fun

I do not belong to a sorority, but those I know who do rave about it. They seem to know many people and have lots of fun with the activities associated with their sorority. They generally like the people in them and seem to be happy they are involved in Greek life.

I LOVE everything about UC. The people are awesome. Perhaps it is because it is a Mid-Western school, but almost everyone at UC seems to be down to earth. People mainly wear jeans or sweat pants to school, don't mind drinking Nati Light on the weekends, and love getting involved in on campus activities. Sporting events are a huge deal where everyone shows their UC pride! All around a great place. I wish I could stay at UC forever!

Best Ohio City!

The area around the school has a ton of places to eat, hangout, see big name bands, and have fun. And that's all within a walking distance. There are tons of museums, music venues, shopping centers, galleries, and much more within a short drive or shuttle ride. It isn't the scary place that some people think!
