College Prowler Take
Within view of some of the most sought after dorms lies a stretch of grass known as Farrand Field. A few trees cast enough shade for only a handful of students, yet that does not seem to matter. On Farrand, it is the sunlight which is sought after. Here, students mingle between study sessions, while the uninhibited soak in rays in thier bikinis. While some students complain about the requirement to live on campus the first year, they soon find that dorm life is fundamental to establishing a social life of any kind. The dorms are a place where relationships are formed and the beginning of the next four years of your life unfolds. Given its convenient location only steps from Farrand Field, Farrand Hall remains first choice among incoming students. The environment is extremely social, as well as accommodating. Farrand also offers an academic program, which allows students to enroll in classes given within the dorm. Adjacent to Farrand is Hallett Hall, which is coined as a “party dorm.” Another popular dorm is Cheyenne Arapahoe. Due to its vegetarian-friendly dining hall, “Cheyhoe” is often labeled as more of a laid-back dorm. Still, the most disregarded dormitory remains Williams Village, which requires dorm dwellers to endure a short bus ride to and from campus. “Will Ville,” as it is called by students, can be avoided by submitting residence hall request forms as soon as possible.

At CU, there are a number of dorms...
At CU, there are a number of dorms that cater to the specific needs of those individuals that live within them. There are academic dorms where studying can be accomplished, as well as party dorms where there is always something to do. I believe Libby is the most recently renovated dorm where entrance to rooms can be accessed with a card instead of a key; otherwise, all dorms have basically the same interior. Since most of the dorms have their own dining halls, cliques are often formed within specific dorms, but I would suggest venturing into other halls, so you can get a taste of what every dorm has to offer. |

One of the best things about the...
One of the best things about the residence halls at CU is that the housing department is seriously renovating each building (one per year). They are literally gutting the inside and starting over, along with doing minor upgrades on other buildings. So this means, as the years go on, incoming students are far more likely to live in a brand spankin' new building with new updated amenities.

Will Ville is nice, even though...
Will Ville is nice, even though most students complain. It has bigger rooms, less people sharing bathrooms, and air-conditioning. However, it is off campus, and you have to ride a crowded bus to get to class. |

Farrand, Sewall, and Baker are the nice dorms on campus. Libby and Cheyenne Arapahoe are not as attractive. Williams Village rooms are fantastic, but they are five minutes off campus, and you will have to take a bus. Kittredge is nice, but it’s a farther walk than others. |

There is no dorm that’s better...
There is no dorm that’s better than another. The only real difference is location. Williams Village is off campus, and you have to take a bus to school everyday. It’s a community in itself. Kittredge is the farthest dorm from classes that is on campus, and the rest are scattered throughout. They all offer the same things. |
