Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

UConn offers a wide selection of food at the dining locations on campus. All undergraduate students residing in non-apartment spaces are required to purchase a meal plan. There are three plans to choose from, ranging in price from $2,267 to $2,504. These give you unlimited access to dining halls and different amounts of flex passes and points (used to purchase items at other food locations on campus or to “flex in" friends to dining halls who don’t have plans). Meal plans may be changed during the first three weeks of the semester. Each dining hall posts its daily menus online and provides enough range that you can always find something you like. The locations are scattered around campus enough that you’re near one all of the time. Food must be consumed in the dining halls, with the exception of ice cream, a piece of fruit, pastries, or beverages—which can be taken out. Students are responsible for clearing their tables and placing food trays in the correct return location.

If you don’t have time to sit down and eat, visit one of the cafés or "Grab & Go" locations. "Grab & Gos" accept flex passes and points for purchase of sandwiches, snacks, and wraps. Cafés offer the necessities to keep your caffeine levels high to power through those long days of studying. The Student Union offers more food options that require the use of points. There are several food choices in the Student Union market, including Mexican food, pizza, and salads. Blimpie, Panda Express, and Wendy’s restaurants are also located in the Union, along with UConn’s own Chuck & Augie’s. The Dairy Barn is UConn’s delicious homemade ice cream shop, but it is also sold in the Student Union at The Blue Cow. With all of these food locations, you won’t go hungry at UConn.

Food

The food is okay, but it is not worth the price!! It is too expensive! Since I only go to the dining halls once or twice a day, I should not be paying more than 2,500 per semester. The prices are just crazy.

EW!!

the campus food is served by 3 immigrants. They obviously have no background in being a chef. The food is all quickly thrown together and heated up. Everything is cheekily overpriced, for example you know those 1 $ arizonas??? they serve a much smaller can, smaller than a coke can, for 3$. DO NOT EAT HERE, the only benefit is that it is Stamford. So if you have the time and money between classes you can eat out

I Don't Eat on Campus Much but...

I am a commuter student so I don't eat on campus much but when I do, I don't complain. There are great choices of what to eat, and the food tastes good. The food at the Student Union is the best and there are many places on and off campus that let you use points or Husky Bucks.

Special Options Lizzie's is a food truck located between Arjona and Monteith, and it sells breakfast and lunch sandwiches, soup, soda, and more.
Did You Know? Unfortunately with flex passes and points, if you don't use them, you lose them. Get the full use of your meal plan and use them all before the semester ends because they won't roll over to the next one.
