College Prowler Take
UConn is a very attractive campus. The biggest problem is meeting people you’re potentially compatible with, and the best way to do that is to get involved in activities that interest you. It’s not always a good idea to date people on your floor, and finding dates in class can be tough, so activities are your best option. With 250 clubs, you can easily find something you enjoy and try to make a few friends doing it. And who knows? Maybe you’ll get a relationship out of it, too. There is a joke at UConn that the hot girls hibernate for the winter, but it’s actually just the cruel contrast between their late-summer short-shorts and the parkas of early winter. With so many people on campus, it’s guaranteed there will be someone you’ll like, and chances are there will be many you might like but just haven’t met yet.

It’s half and half. You’ll see a lot of cute guys and girls, but then there are also some busted-up people. |

The people here are conceited. Everybody thinks they are better than everybody else. There are decent amounts of hot girls, but most have bad personalities or play games. Personally, I think all the guys here are nerds; they both look and act that way. The guys seem ugly, but, then again, I really can’t judge them. |

Social Scene
UConn is a social explosion. Everyone has their own group more or less, and with such a diverse array of personalities, compatibility is almost guaranteed.
Hookups or Relationships?
Because the visible underclassman social scene on campus mainly consists of dancing and drinking at off-campus parties, it would seem that hooking up is the thing to do. That wouldn't be far from the truth, as there are many single people, but there are also a good percentage of relationships. It seems that at UConn, most people are dating seriously or looking to by their junior year.
Best Places to Meet Guys/Girls
Whether you're looking for a hookup or a relationship will govern your strategy in finding someone, but activities are the best place to meet a significant other. Colored house parties, although they usually do draw sizable crowds of both sexes, are mostly male-dominated and constitute the main hookup scene. The winter can be tough if you're single, but during the warmer months, the campus heats up in more ways than just the weather.
Dress Code
The dress for the most part is preppy: A&F and other companies like it are huge. Jeans and a tight T-shirt are pretty standard for girls, while the guys tend to go with jeans or cargo pants and a sweatshirt.
Did You Know?Top Places to Find Hotties: 1. Class—with so many people it’s a virtual smorgasbord
2. Anywhere during warm weather—they’re out in force
3. Off-campus parties, but, for god’s sake, wear protection Top Places to Hook Up: 1. Dorm room, while your roommate is out
2. Handicap shower stalls, but be careful, because you’ll get written up if you’re discovered in a bathroom of the opposite sex
3. Empty classrooms—buildings are open at night. Extra points if you have a class in that room less than an hour later
4. Colored house parties
5. The benches designed into the architecture and hidden from view near the psychology and math/science buildings
