Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

UConn is an active campus. Students are spotted outdoors jogging or hitting the gym, and there are tons of club sports to get involved with, as well. People work hard to look good, and it shows when the weekend comes. Girls like to get dressed up to go out to parties or the bar. You'll see a lot of them wearing high heels—a big mistake when you have to walk everywhere, though.

Most people are friendly, too. It's not unusual to hear crowds yell the UConn Huskies chant while walking to a party or to end up in an apartment where you know no one, but leave with a couple of new contacts in your phone. It's easy to meet people—just get out of your dorm room!

I Love Football Players

There is an abundance of athletic types around campus and they actually mingle with everyone! SO its easy to get to know the prized quarterback or the front runner without being star-struck.

All Sorts of People

At UConn, there are so many people. There are people who are really good-looking to average looking people. The point is there are range of people. You can expect there to be a party every weekend, so social life is really great. People on the campus are very chill and people don't really dress up much, except when they go out or for special occasions.

Looks-bad unless you live where all the athletes live, otherwise you would have to get lucky

Interests-Not sure, everyone's different

Dress-College students don't really care so yea

Social Life-Greek parties are the usual weekend thing if not just drinking in you're own room or smoking somewhere hidden, oh yea lots of white people = lots of potheads. and the laws for weed up here are slightly more lenient, look it up if you're interested

Relationships-???again it's college

Social Scene

There are groups, cliques, and people everywhere on campus doing an array of activities. Overall, students are friendly and looking to meet new people, so get out there!

Hookups or Relationships?

While you may see a lot of hooking up at weekend parties, you will still see a fair number of couples holding hands on the walk to class. Some party scenes seem to be focused on the hookup lifestyle, but a lot of individuals are in long-term relationships, too. They seem to be balanced.

Best Places to Meet Guys/Girls

Whether you're looking for a hookup or a relationship will govern your strategy in finding someone, but activities are the best place to meet a significant other. Colored house parties, although they usually do draw sizable crowds of both sexes, are mostly male-dominated and constitute the main hookup scene. The winter can be tough if you're single, but during the warmer months, the campus heats up in more ways than just the weather.

Dress Code

Many students have a preppy look, but a lot of the time you'll see people in sweatpants and UConn T-shirts. In the winter, everyone seems to wear North Face jackets and fleeces, and girls wear Ugg boots; this has been informally dubbed the "UConn uniform." Jeans and a T-shirt will always suffice. It all depends on how early you want to wake up to get ready.
