Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

Storrs, Conn. is UConn, and there’s nothing much else to it. Storrs is a rural town with other similar towns surrounding it. In order to get to a grocery store, shopping center, or any other food besides pizza and wings, you need a car. However, this does create a close-knit student body. UConn is a place where students unite over sports, parties, and frankly, having nothing else to do.

The campus is equipped with everything students need: food, movies, bars, and more. Luckily, school clubs and organizations keep students busy with activities and events. The Jorgensen Center for the Performing Arts has many shows and concerts throughout the year, and students receive discounted tickets. The party scene runs the weekends, as you’ll often see herds of students walking to off-campus parties at Carriage and Celeron. People are always outside when the weather’s warm, studying on the lawn or going for a run. Despite the middle-of-nowhere location, the student body’s Husky pride creates a fun college atmosphere on campus.
