Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

UConn has six shuttle bus routes that take students all over campus. The routes and times can be viewed on the Department of Parking and Transportation Services website. Buses run from 7 a.m. to 12 a.m., and there are late-night buses that run until 2 a.m. on Friday and Saturday. Apartment shuttles bring off-campus apartment residents to campus, but most students living off campus have cars and drive to class. The buses are usually on time, but in extreme weather, they can be delayed. Also, when it rains and snows, the buses can get very crowded, so get to the bus stop early. They’re reliable and a great alternative to long walks across campus.

To promote safety, Safe Ride programs were created so students don’t have to walk home at night. Husky Watch and GUARD (Giving UConn A Responsible Driver) Dogs are two organizations on campus that students can call to get a safe ride back to their dorm instead of walking in the dark.

Pedestrians, the Bus Is Turning

There are campus buses that run from apartment complexes to anywhere you need to go on campus. They are fairly quick and effecient as long as you know what bus to get on. In addition there is an app for tracking the bus so you never have to stand outside an extra minute in cold weather.
