College Prowler Take
Athletics are popular to those who care about them. If you have no interest in sports, you will not feel left out at all. The main spectator sports that draw crowds are football and basketball. Of course every student wants UD teams to win, but support is more abstract, as few students follow the games or know the details of UD sports teams. Intramurals are really big with those who participate in them, but seem practically nonexistent to those who don’t. Your own preference determines how important sports will be to your college life. The gym for students is modern and fully-equipped. There are fitness classes, personal trainers, and staff to plan a personalized workout for those who cannot plan their own workouts. There are even options such as yoga for those who are not so fond of sweat-breaking exercise. Most students take advantage of some aspect of athletics, whether in team form or on their own, and the gym is always crowded at peak hours.

Varsity football is huge. We’re Division I football as well as basketball. Our field hockey team is also well respected. IM sports aren’t that big of a thing. |

Depending on the varsity sport, it’s big. I mean football and basketball are big things, but sadly the girls’ sports don’t dominate too much. As for IM sports, I know people who play them, but they’re not that big of a deal. |

Next year I will be playing varsity golf. This year I did club wrestling, and we made it to number two in the nation. All of the sports here kick butt. |

Varsity sports are huge, especially in our good years. Intramurals are fun, too. I played on a soccer team. |

I wasn’t at the school for the football season, but I hear a lot of people attend the games and that they’re really fun. Go Blue Hens! |

Getting Tickets
Tickets for UD students are completely free as long as you sit in the section reserved for students. If you want to sit with your parents in the regular stands, you must purchase a ticket. If a game is particularly important or exciting, it is better to get tickets a week in advance, because the seating for students is limited. You can get these in the Trabant Center Box Office. There usually isn’t a problem with games being sold out, so this is just a precaution.
