Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

Over the years, UD has become more involved in its students’ recreational activities. They have been awarded numerous grants for the prevention of underage drinking, and they seem to be a bit obsessed at times. If you are smart and careful, you should get along just fine, but alcohol does tend to dull your inhibitions, leading to displays of drunkenness. This can possibly result in a strike and alcohol responsibility classes, or even arrest and expulsion.

There have been complaints that UD Police are so worried about catching underage drinkers that they aren’t actually protecting students. UD’s main goal with all of these policies is to show students that this school is no longer a party school and they won’t tolerate anything that will tarnish their new, serious image. Breaking the rules can have serious consequences, but most people find that if you are responsible, and use a little bit of common sense, you can have fun and avoid getting in trouble.

Ridiculously Strict

Don't go here if you don't want to graduate with a permanent record. Kids get arrested by the police for playing music "too loud" even in their dorm rooms. These students then have to pay the town to go on probation for the noise violation and then have to additionally pay the school for breaking the student conduct code.

Police Are Really Strict Here!

The police are really strict about parking and on special days like St Patrick's day and Homecoming, they patrol and it is not advisable to walk around with a cup or you will get stopped. The university is very strict about academic dishonesty- You can get expelled if you get caught cheating. The police are on top of their game when it comes to parking. Don't being your car unless you want to pay a lot for a parking pass- anyway everyone walks everywhere.
