Those who are in Greek organizations often love it and think it is the best part of the entire college experience. Those that don’t join often ignore the Greek presence and go about their own lives perfectly content without a Greek membership. This is one organization that tends to live in its own world. There are some Greek members who don’t even like to associate with those who are not Greek. Luckily, there are not many who subscribe to this philosophy, and Greeks tend to mix with everyone and separate for Greek events.

Recently there has been a strong effort to stop hazing, binge drinking, and all other harmful activities normally associated with being Greek. This has resulted in the suspension or removal of most of UD’s fraternities. Some are starting to return, but it has been pretty quiet without them around. The Greek community resents these actions, and longs for the days of wild abandon when binge drinking was just a given.

Greek Life

Honestly, it's not to big but not to small. Sometimes its good and sometimes its bad. From the outside looking in, I feel as if your paying for friends, many of which aren't your good buddies. There are many people who don't do it, so its not the status quo to join.

Getting bigger every year

As of right now Greek Life is moderately big. However, it is becoming bigger in the school and most people love the sorority/fraternity they are a part of

Big but Not Overwhelming

As a freshman it seems like a lot of stuff revolves around Greek life simply because that's when most people rush and start getting involved. Furthermore, freshman tend to go to a lot of frat parties on weekends for lack of other options. After freshman year, Greek life is still a good part of campus but you don't have to be involved in order to have friends or have fun.
