If you have a parking pass, you can always find somewhere. I'd recommend buying a pass for a restricted lot, because you know there will always be a space for you there. And with that, you can park in any general lot as well. If you are talking about not getting a pass and going for street parking, don't do it. The spaces on all the streets for blocks around DU are 1 hour parking only during the week and Saturday and they monitor it very closely. You'd have to park incredibly far away to get out of the 1 hour restriction.
you can also talk to upperclassmen/look on craigslist for people who are living in houses close to campus but aren't using their garage/driveway. My friends have a 2-car garage that they rent out for $50 a month- not too bad!
