You have to live on campus...

You have to live on campus freshman and sophomore year. The only problem about finding housing junior year is that you will most likely be abroad for the fall. Besides that, housing is really easy and totally worth it.

The food is pretty good compared to most universities. Compared to public universities like UW Madison and California schools, it's amazing. It's better than the private school cafs, too, like Marquette, Whitman, and Georgetown. The dining halls are pretty good. Desserts are awesome, and the staff is super friendly, too.

I absolutely love DU. My years here have been some of the best of my life and, unlike high school, I do not want to graduate. The people are nice and fun, the campus is lively and exactly the perfect distance from the city life in Denver. Classes are small, and professors are almost always well experienced and respected professionals in their fields. They care about their students and in a lot of cases bother to learn their names. I am a transfer student who came to DU my sophomore year, and if I could do one thing different, it would be to have come to DU my freshman year.

As far as I've heard, off-campus housing really isn't that bad and should be fairly convenient. Although I still live on campus this year, I do plan on living off next year and have heard that it's not that hard finding an apartment. Personally I would recommend living on campus the first two years, then finding an off-campus apartment around junior year.

The food is pretty good. I mean, it's college, so you can't expect fantastic food. The dining halls aren't too bad, but they do get boring and tasteless after a while. There is an on campus "pub" that is actually delicious. I find myself eating there for dinner a couple times a week. A new dorm building on campus also has a few food options, and they have some pretty good Mexican food.

The school actually has a two year...

The school actually has a two year on-campus requirement unless you join a Greek house and opt to live there, or if you are a commuter student, so students aren't looking for housing until after their sophomore years. There are lots of houses for rent around the campus area---apartments as well---but you definitely pay a premium for being close to campus. The nicer apartments in the area are pretty expensive, so many students find their best bet is to find several friends and get a house together.

The food here sucks. It's getting better, but there is definitely not enough variety, and places to eat close early. There is nowhere on campus that is open for some sort of sustenance 24 hours a day, which most students wish they really had and most other schools do have. They definitely need higher quality food at DU and a lot more variety in the food that they serve. Most students dread eating dorm food and can't wait until they no longer have to eat the food provided by Sodexo.

Food on campus is great becasue there are so many options. The dining halls on campus use top-quality food from Sodexo and do a decent job with variety. There are a bunch of other places on campus to get food that range from quick and easy to sit-down-and-take-your-time. Even still, the food becomes mundane and old, and when that happens, there are a ton of great places to eat within walking distance off campus. From the first Chipotle ever, to subs (Subway/Quiznos), to pizza, to restaurants, there is a multitude of places and food to eat.

We have a lot of off-campus options at reasonable prices, such as houses for rent, apartments, and other school-owned off-campus housing. It is definitely worth it because they are really close to campus.

The food is OK. There is definitely a variety of options in the dining halls. Nagel, which just opened, is probably the most popular because they have a pizza bar and a Mexican bar. There are little stores located around campus to use meal plan cash at if you want to buy like chips and stuff like that. There are also little stands in almost every building to buy snacks and drinks.

Food on the campus is good. The food in the main dining halls can get repetitive, but there are always plenty of options. Some of the other dining options, such as the brew pub, are always exciting to eat at, and they have good food.

We are required to life on campus for two years. However, I am in Delta Zeta, and I am going hopefully going to live in the house next quarter. The dorms are not too bad, but they can be loud, so I think that I would like it better if I moved off campus.

Food on campus is pretty decent, and there are quite a few choices considering what a small campus we have. There are two dining halls, and then there is the Pub, which has normal pub food, and the Commons, which is really popular for custom sandwiches and salads at lunch. There is also Jazzman's for coffee, pastries, and quick snacks, and one dorm has a food court that is also really popular.

Sodexo provides all the food on campus. The dining halls are the worst. Sidelines Pub in the student center is decent, and the food court in Nagel Hall is by far the best. Any student can eat in any of these places, so it just depends on where you choose to eat.

In the immediate area that is walkable from campus, you have Subway, Quiznos, Black Jack Pizza, Garbanzo, Spicy Pickle, Jason's Thai, Tokyo Joe's, Chipotle, Anthony's Pizza, Fugheddaboudit's Pizza, and Starbucks. There is a great assortment of food to eat, and you can pick something up no matter what mood you're in.

It depends on your taste, I guess. I would give the girls a high mark because tomboys that double as hotties are kinda my thing. Sometimes looks can be deceiving. There are a lot of girls who have that 'shallow' look on the surface, but when you get to know them, they are really cool and down-to-earth.

The housing that DU provides is pretty good. I recommend that freshman live in JMAC because the rooms are nicer than those in halls and the rooms have HUGE windows. They are currently building a new residence hall called Nagel which will open in Fall 2008, and will house sophomores, juniors and seniors.

I love that, for the most part, grad students don’t teach the classes (not even core requirement classes that have a lot of students). It’s a comforting feeling knowing that my thousands and thousands of dollars are going toward a solid education from professors who really know what they’re talking about, and not some relatively clueless student who’s almost my age.

I hate living in the dorms, but this year, I got to live in Nelson, and it’s been better than my other experiences in dorms at DU. At least the building is nice and not gross. When I lived in Halls, it was disgusting. Do they ever clean the bathrooms?

DU is in Denver, but it is also its own community within the big city. All of the commodities of a big city are at hand, but the campus and student body are so small that a person never feels lost. There is so much to do in Denver—arts and events, sporting events, cultural events, and shopping. Being so close to the mountains also provides a lot of options for people interested in outdoor activities.

Restaurants in Denver are okay, but I wouldn’t say they’re anything spectacular. Around campus, try Tokyo Joe’s for really good, fresh Japanese food. And it’s quick, so you’re not sitting and waiting for your food for forever. Chipotle is a favorite, too, because it’s cheap, fast, yummy, and you get a lot of food.

You probably wouldn’t think of Denver as being home to beautiful people right off the bat, but it is! DU has some good-looking people, and when you go party downtown, you’ll find even more hotties from other schools. Some of the girls are a little skanky, though.
