The house parties are fun, but there seems to be few places that are for people that are 21 and under. But none of the places, even for 21 and older are that great. Greek parties and house parties are the way to go. Especially if you party with the Saudis.

I have never had an internship because I am more interested in the leadership roles that come with a position. However, with that said there is no lack of opportunity with in the theatre department. Our professors have years of experience and with that lots of connections in which they pass on to their students.

University of Evansville supplies SafeRide for students that need rides. We are a dry campus so when students go to the bars, the university makes it easy to call this cab service, show your school ID, and get a free ride so that people are not drinking and driving. Nightlife consists of fraternity house parties mostly which oftentimes have themes and are fun social events for students who are underage. There are also movie nights on Thursdays and many things to get involved with!!!

About 90% of students at the University of Evansville receive some form of financial aid. Since the school is private and fairly expensive, there are many opportunities to receive help. I have been fortunate to receive the amount of money that I have. I would recommend applying for as many scholarships as possible!

Many students do not support the athletes or come to cheer at events. The athletes don't really know each other. Sororities and fraternities seem to be the only students that go watch events. Being Division 1 has been difficult for such a small private school but most of our sports are continually improving which is great to see! We just got new basketball facilities but tennis, swimming, and golf are lacking majorly in facility quality.

There are tons of options and lots of student discounts.

There is not a wide variety, but the faculty and staff go above and beyond to help you out. There is a lot of connections you can make through UE.

Lots of good student discounts, but we're also pretty isolated.

Scholarships are mostly based on academics, but there are several based on athletic need. UE merit based scholarships are based on grades, and it is easy to get lower amounts due to gpa, but it is hard to move up with the scholarship amounts if grades improve.

There are limited amounts of parking spots in the different lots, and most of the time the lots are full. Parking passes are average, but spots fill up fast. Expect to have to park in lots up to a block away if plans including getting back on campus after 8 pm.

Most people have cars or friends with cars, but the bus system in Evansville is cheap and decent. There are several restaraunts and stores that are a walking distance from campus, but having a car makes campus life more enjoyable.

The school has several fields and teams. The games are always fun and upbeat. There are different levels of teams from professional to intervarsity. The gym is equipped with weight machines, elipticals, rowing machines, an Olympic sized pool, tracks, tennis, basketball, and raquetteball courts. They offer a variety of fitness classes including zumba, yoga, brazilian dancing, line dancing, etc. They are even working on making the gym bigger, and it has recently included a renovation that added a new basketball court.

The college is located in southern Indiana next to the Ohio River, so the weather is really random and unpredictable. Classes are rarely cancelled over weather, but it is very easy for the campus to become flooded in various spots. This is because of the outdated plumbing and water systems.

Greek life at an small campus like UE is excellent. There is a no hazing policy, and as far as I know none of the sororities haze (mine certainly doesn't). Being Greek definitely adds to the sense of belonging and sense of community.

I am an English Education major, which is basically a double major. Many of my education classes as a freshman and sophomore are a joke. Next year, being a junior, I will enter into my internships. I honestly don't think my program has prepared me. The literature courses and writing course I have taken thus far have been excellent.

The PC's on campus are slow in comparison to my mac. Printing at the library is free, which is very generous in my opinion, so you definitely don't need your own printer. As far as the printing locations in the more busy areas (the student center) during crunch time they are very crowded and run out of paper quickly. I've never had too much problems with the wireless network reliability and speed.

Evansville is in the top 10 most miserable cities in the United States. UE is basically in it's own bubble.
College Senior 2013-06-28T02:19:25Z
There is not a drug problem at the university and there are not many problems with students and alcohol. If there are parties on campus, alcohol is not allowed because it is a dry campus. If there is a part somewhere off campus, most people still don't drink, but if there are some that do they usually don't pre.ssure others to join. UE is very strict with their policies about alcohol on campus, as well as with drugs.

The campus housing is very good. All the buildings are relatively new except for Hughes Hall, which is the oldest dorm on campus. All except Hughes offer air conditioned rooms, but all the buildings are in great shape and have friendly resident coordinators. They are all really close to the buildings with classes in them, so you are always close to your next class.
College Senior 2013-06-28T02:13:01Z
The off campus housing for UE is fairly convenient due to the locations of the apartments and houses available. They are in pretty good shape and are equipped with most things that students will need.
College Senior 2013-06-28T02:10:21Z
Most are brand new and work perfectly. The Koch center has excellent computers and software for all the classes and projects that are worked on. The dorm buildings have decent computers as well. Most are brand new now and are really fast.

At the University of Evansville we only have one dining hall. It is a really small food court, but it has a somewhat varied selection of food. A few of the places serve the exact same meals daily, which can be a good thing, or a bad thing depending on how well you like the food. I personally think the dining hours are a bit too short. Sometimes class can run late, and then you missed your chance at getting food at the dining hall. And at nights, it closes AT 7. Not a minute later. I think that is a bit early (for college students anyways). Also, if you have meal points left over at the end of the semester, they simply go to waste. They will not let them roll over to the next semester, even if it is the same academic year. This is a major waste of money and completely inconvenient. I don't really recommend getting the meal plan if you don't have to.

The process of getting into my Exercise Science major was not difficult and had no application process of any type; however, when I move on to physical therapy I will need to complete a rather lengthy application process and I have to do a lot along the way to prove that I am eligible. For example, I have to complete 20 hours of observation hours with a certified physical therapist each academic year. Also, there are many different academic areas that I have to take in order to apply. For example, my major doesn't require 1 full year of biology, but the application process requires that you have 1 year. It is extremely important to know all of the requirements beforehand, because if you wait until the last semester to figure out that you want to go into physical therapy, you will be lacking some of the classes and observation hours that are needed in order to be eligible.

I will be doing my first internship next semester with one of the professors on campus. She was actually one of my professors from a previous class, and she had told us about the research that she was doing and had mentioned needing some assistants. I then asked if it could count as 1 of my internship hours, and she worked with my advisor to get it passed. Although I will not be getting paid for my help, I will be completing 1 of my 12 internship hours that I need in order to fulfill my major requirements.

As an exercise science major, I feel very confident and prepared for what my career will hold in the future. The University is extremely helpful in finding job openings and internships. I would definitely choose this school for my major. I hope to eventually make it into the physical therapy program at UE.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
