Awesome Preparation – At the University of Florida, the rigor of classes is not a joke. All the classes are preparing me for my major studies. Everyone has to find their own, unique way to learn the material being taught to them. In addition, everything learned is applicable for the future.

The regional bus service at the University of Florida is amazing. You could basically commute from place to place without a worry. It gets a little hectic at times (especially if you have morning classes), but there are a large variety of buses that will get you where you need to go.

There are a lot of available lots to park your vehicle. However, going around campus doesn't really require a car. There's a bus service for the whole city so commuting from place to place is really easy. The price for a parking pass is outrageous though. It is a couple hundred dollars.

I've actually never used the computer lab at my school

Gainesville is a cool place but it does get a little boring. There are definitely cool concerts and attractions, as well as outdoor activities, but it is not a large city. Gainesville revolves around the UF campus

I like being a psychology major because my classes are interesting. I feel like I'm getting a well rounded education from excellent professors but I wish my classes were smaller. There seem to be great connection for job opportunities and I'm definitely inspired to continue my education.

It's the "Foundation for the Gator Nation," the center of the famous Florida Gator Pride, but what of it. While school pride is certainly not lacking, the list of things to do outside of academia is. What more is there to do other than eat out and shop.

There are an abundance of scholarships available, but its only really accessible if you are in financial need or are of an uneducated or minority background.

The wireless access here is great and though it's preferable to have one's own computer, there is an abundance of computers and laptops available for public use.

The university is extremely student- oriented and everyone is welcomed with open arms.

Big but Close – I like UF, but I'm glad I chose a small major or I would feel lost.

There are plenty of places to work alone or as part of a group. It is a very comfortable place to be.

Buses, Scooters, or Walk – The bus system on and off campus is great, they come by stops frequently and take you anywhere you would need to go. Scooters and Motorcycles are also great options because there is a bunch of scooter parking available and they are much more efficient for a college student and low cost than a car. Walking is also a great option because the campus is not too far to walk.

Fycs Really Helps to Relate to People – In my major we are learning about the well-being of other people, youth, family, community and society. There are so any great aspects to learn in this class. You learn how to listen to other people and try to relate and help them. I am currently volunteering at a nursing home for this class, so I can see and help the well-being of the elderly. I love that my major shows you how to help people and let you know what goes on in life. Once I get farther in my major I am going to have internship with the children advoacy, so I can speak up for children.

Lots of Options Close to Campus – Near campus there are great places to eat that are excellent prices. Some of the choices are Pita Pit, Relish (hamburger place), Mochi, and great pizza places. Many places are walking distance. The only downside is parking. There isn't very much of it and towing is really strict.

Go Gators – It's a college town, the students and the residents are all rooting for the same team, majority of the restaurants are Orange & Blue. We just have a great support system :)

Living in Freedom – Pros of off-campus housing: generally cheaper than living on campus, has better living conditions, individual leases, easy to commute to and fro your destinations, not as strict and there is better parking for guests and residents than on-campus.
Cons of off-campus housing: costly/difficult to impossible to get out of lease without subleasing, easier for packages to be stolen, may live with non-students and waking up a little earlier to get to class.

They Have Everything – UF has facilities for anything you can think of. There are more libraries than I can count. Two big gyms on opposite sides of campus. Each dorm community has a specific learning environment that is supposed to help students as well as a study hall. It is very easy to get food from the many restaurants surrounding as well as within campus, and the two major dining halls. The Reitz Union is the center of campus, and not only is it a hotel but also a great place to house functions, conferences and activities, even at the same time. There are many nearby entertainment and interest opportunities as well as some of the greatest health facilities in the country.

Atletics Are a Major Focus – The school thrives on varsity and intramural sports. There is literally a sport for everyone!

The gyms available and workout rooms, as well as sports facilities, athletic training and workout classes are mind-blowing. We even have a private lake with a rock climbing and ropes course available as well as all sorts of water sports. The quality of the facilities are excellent and they are open all the time. you can even get extremely discounted personal training.

I absolutely love the nursing school here! It is extremely competitive but they were adequately prepare you for your career ahead. I believe that I will be very adequately prepared and can easily get a job after studying at the University of Florida.

Just Be Smart – You will be fine as long as you don't do anything stupid. Follow the speed limits and traffic laws on campus and always be sure to park where you are allowed to! Be careful with open containers and as long as you are not out-of-control you will be fine.
College Senior 2011-10-05T00:17:52Z
Fun for Everyone! Midtown is the easiest place to go if you live on-campus just because it is right across from campus. It offers the best bars and many of them are 18+. House parties off-campus and fraternity houses are always fun and are open to everyone. The club life is a bit lacking but if you know exactly what you like you can find here in Gainesville. The transportation is fantastic, you never have to worry about drinking and driving because our bus system is free for all UF students. If you are not into the partying scene, at the Union every Friday night "Gator Nights" is held. At "Gator Nights" many different fun activities are featured, you can see new movies and free midnight breakfast :)

Rts Busses Are Awful – my roomate had her toes cut off by the wheel chair ramp

Very Diverse – lots of middle eastern and asian people around campus
Sorry, there are no reviews.
