UF is very well known for it's school spirit and it's football team. On game days, you can see everyone on campus and off campus dressed in blue and orange, supporting their favorite team and getting together to watch the Gators win some games.

Health & Safety:
Personal Safety – The campus police does a great job to ensure that all the students are aware of any possible dangers. Also, the provide fliers with tips on how to stay safe around campus during the late hours. UF also provides a great bus system that runs til late hours of the night to ensure that no student is walking alone in the dark. Other than that, i have never had a negative or dangerous experience during my time on campus.

College Town – Gainesville, FL is a college town. The whole city operates around the University of Florida schedule ex: certain restaurants and shops change their hours according to school days. I love this big small town!

Quick and Easy – I did not encounter any difficulties. If you are a good student in high school and have good SAT scores, then you can be a Florida Gator too. Make sure you have a lot of extra-curricular activities and a good essay. The application is fast and easy and takes no longer than a 2 days to complete.

Student Involvement – Everyone is very spirited and shows support for every sport from volleyball to football. Also, the gym facilities on campus are very modern and are an excellent place for people to get fit.

There is alcohol and drugs all around (not dependent on age either)

If you're here to party, live off-campus- otherwise you wont get anything done, on campus is much better (convenient, decently priced, good atmosphere)

Due to the state being stingy with funding, a lot of cuts have been made for programs. They however spare no expense when it comes to sports.

The parking is horrible, hands down- if you have a car, live off-campus

Guys & Girls:
The Facts – For girls, it's about every other one is hot, lots of whores and a lot of fake religious whores. With guys, there are a good deal of douchebags but as long as you stay clear of the Frats you should be good.

Very Straightforward Process, Just Don't Wait! Financial aid at UF is easy - just fill out your FAFSA and sign up for direct deposit. After drop/add ends that semester, they will direct deposit all of your left-over financial aid into your bank account of choice. No messy paperwork, it's pretty easy as long as you do it by the deadline. DO NOT miss the deadline or you will be in for a giant headache! They will still help you but it's a lot harder to get aid.

Do It the First Year, Then Move Off Campus – I definitely encourage all incoming freshmen to live in the dorms for at least their first year of college. It really is part of the "college experience" and it's great to be on campus and in the middle of everything when you first start out. But a lot of the dorms are really old (historical buildings) so they don't have any central air conditioning, you have to use fans or standing A/C units, no window units. The newer dorms and honors dorms are a lot nicer, and the Later Gator buses run from downtown back to campus so it's a nice way to be able to party downtown and make it home safe without having to drive. There is NO PARKING on campus, though, so if you're bringing a car, good luck finding somewhere to park it.

UF has a lot of great facilities that are free or low cost to students. The SW Rec center is a huge fitness center that is free to students and open almost all the time. UF has a great student health care center that is partnered with Shands Hospital, one of the largest hospitals in the southeast. The Counseling and Wellness center is also really helpful, they will go out of their way to make sure you get the mental health and personal wellness services you need. The Reitz Union has everything - a print lab, small arcade, lots of food places, study areas, and often offers movie screenings and other fun things. Basically, there's always SOMETHING to do somewhere on campus, you have no excuse to be bored.

A Big Community Made Really Small – The greek life is a great opportunity to meet a group of people that will probably become your friends for the rest of your life. its also a great way to start networking across the campus to meet people and get 'Ins" with organizations such as student government. The social aspect is very appealing that you get to meet hundreds of new people and you don't have to try and meet people; they come looking for you. However it is very time consuming and must be something you really lust for. So take into consideration your current academic stress and add on another 3 credit course and if you can handle it, then you can handle greek life. It seems to be very interesting and would definitely consider it to be a great option. Greek life viewed by non-greek life students is more of a view that all they do is party and don't focus on academics; but until you actually give it a shot and see how involved and dedicated they are to their studies, you really can't have a point of view; the average of greek life students hold higher GPA's than the rest of the campus. So its definitely beneficial.

AMAZING CAMPUS!! The accessibility to the places on campus are fantastic! As a student you get free bus servicing everywhere; but when people think bus, "It must be slow and ill never get anywhere!" WRONG. The bus's are highly efficient, running over 30 routes around campus to get you to the awesome buildings. Most of the buildings have a older appealing outside look; but the insides are magnificent; latest technology in the libraries, millions of books to choose from, 6 floors of study space and computer labs!, printing facilities, and etc. And don't forget the gym! The gym is absolutely breath taking, hundreds of free classes to take to get into great physical shape and also includes several basketball indoor/outdoor courts, volleyball fields, tennis, racquetball. Also the recreation center sets up a wide variety of sports for the students to participate in, from basketball to cricket they have a wide variety of selections to fit your needs. there is never a dull moment on campus; the student government disperses a 17million dollar budget across the campus for clubs and organizations to setup events for students; if you can't find something, you never looked. there are hundreds of daily events; there are so many its hard to decide! From midnight breakfast to a shaving cream fight at 2am to the gator growl before football games; hundreds of new awesome people to meet and always something fun to do!

Best Computer Access and Accessories – There are many places around campus to get access to computer, there may be a few lines here and there; especially during exam weeks, but if you don't mind the wait there is plenty of opportunities to use computers. I find it very convenient to bring my own computer; also the bookstore gives great deals on computers and can setup great financing programs for you if necessary. I bought a computer from there and got a free printer; of actual good quality. Also there is internet access all around the campus through wifi/direct connect. I feel that having a laptop makes working on school work to be a lot easier, because i can setup where ever i like and have great internet access. Also if you don't have a printer but need something to print and don't have that spare change; the Reitz student union on campus offers free printing for anything you need!! Although it does close; fairly late 10pm.. And is also located in the central area on campus; very convenient!

Great Support – There is a lot of help from the school and many scholarships given. Apply for FAFSA first and look at the colleges you are in for more scholarships there is so much money given out to help students but you need to invest in the time in applying for them.

Registration Process and Advisors – Catalogs of our Departments are given out within a certain given amount of time to see the available classes and build your schedule that is preferable to one's taste. There are many advisors available during this time so that if needed to consult one of them an appointment or walk-in the registrar's office will schedule you to speak with one. This is a great method as the registration process can be quite frustating sometime in seeing what classes you need to take next. With the help of these advisors they explain more concretely what it is you need or what your degree requirements are.

Great EMBA Program – I think that the EMBA program is one of the best. The administration is top notch. They are very helpful for the students (all working professionals). I think this program is the best value for the cost.
