Diverse Campus – There are students of all different ethnic backgrounds at the University of Florida. We also have a great Multi-culutral Affairs department that implements lots of programs to make everyone feel welcome.

Drinking Is Popular – A lot of people smoke in Gainesville, but almost everybody drinks. Alcohol is prevalent on game days especially.

The Gainesville nightlife is awesome for anybody over 18. The 18+ clubs are fun, but the 21+ bars and clubs are way better. It is a very fun party school.

Gainesville Is a Fun Little Town – Gainesville is a small town, but there is a lot to do. There is a little bit of everything in the city and there is always something to do.

I think that the University of Florida is very unique. Many people want and dream of being able to enter this university and for some it is a pleasure to be here. I think our campus is very big and very diverse. I wouldn't want to go to any other school other than UF.

Health & Safety:
Campus Crime – The first time I heard of any campus crime was about a month ago and I have been here for two years.

Frat Parties – Most of the frat parties are the ones that are rated after some time.

Well, I am originally from Miami so i am used to a way different crowd. The clubs here in Gainesville close really early. (2am) They also play like top forties at the club here, very different from Miami. But if you experience all the diiferent clubs you will find one that you will really like. Most of the clubs are also 18 and over however there are also the clubs that are only 21 and over. In the end, you have a good time and there is someone always going out here in Gainesville. The transportation is also extremelly good they stay running until late after the clubs to get the students back home.

Athletic Centers – There are two really big gyms on campus that are kept really clean and always avialable. There are also the athelic centers for sports which there is many of those.

Live on Campus Your First Year – The way to do UF is live on campus your first year, make friends, and then move off. Go for a good dorm near the center of campus and don't worry about getting a place that "won't be good for studying." That's why there's a library.

Lots of Great CHEAP Options – Check out Leonardo's Pizza, Burrito Brothers, Steamers, Copper Monkey, Cafe Gardens for good and cheap food that you can easily get right off campus.

Buses or Scooter – The RTS bus system is really good for on or off campus, however a scooter or motorcycle is your best option. Forget a car. Bring it up, find a spot, and try not to move it or risk loosing your spot.

Huge Variety Comes With a Huge Price – Lots of places to eat around campus, and many are extremely spread out. However options can get rather expensive, and if you're on the meal plan options are limited and extremely repetitive. Food is delicious though, in moderation. Don't get a meal plan if you plan on rushing, Greeks have chefs in house to cook lunch and dinner on the week days and its always something delicious!

Swamp Life – Gainesville is a huge college town with a great lifestyle. The classes are tough but the social aspect is amazing. There's so much to do on any given day or night of the week, and everyones always down for a good time.

Hot and humid for the first half of the first semester, cold (surprisingly cold!) winters, and then reverts back to the heat.

Greeks Dominate – Greeks pretty much dominate the scene. They're everywhere and can be seen in just about any popular organization. There's been some moral troubles with them, but can be easily avoided.

Guys & Girls:
Great Mix – You can basically find any type on campus: from the jocks, Southern gentlemen, prepsters and hipsters.

Gainesville is pretty progressive, so it is an extremely accepting place. School spirit is the one thing that sets us apart. Everyone is a gator. And the football games are a blast. Campus goes crazy on game day.

Parking it awful. I was told at preview not to bring my car because i could just use the bus system. RTS barely runs on the weekend so your screwed if you want to go anywhere. Parking decals are 120 for the year, and tickets cost 30 for people without one. And they are strict with parking. I had a friend that parked on the line by 1 inch and she got a 15 dollar ticket. And there are only 2 parking lots freshman can park in and they are far away from most dorms.

Gays Welcome – Gainesville is very accepting of gays as a whole. That is the one thing that really shocked me when i moved up here because most people try to say its full of hicks. But we just elected a gay mayor. I'm not Greek, but if i could do it over, i would. Being Greek really helps you get to know people and as I've come to find out many of them have gay men in them and most frats don't care. So don't let that hold you back.

Good School – UF has so many academic opportunities. They really help you decide what to do with your life and then help you achieve these goals. There are so many opportunities for research and establishing professional connections that will help you later in life. Many classes are challenging but there are also fun classes. The only downside is that class sizes are large so you must be able to learn in mostly through lectures.

It Is an Outstanding School – The University of Florida is not only a great institution of higher learning but it also provides a well balanced opportunity for participation in athletics, the arts, clubs, and civic responsibilities.

Campus Aesthetics – The campus reflects the natural beauty of northern Florida. The spanish moss swaying in the breeze, the dense foliage, and the red brick of the buildings all contribute to making the University of Florida one of the most interesting campuses.

Alright, Not the Best but Have Been Worse – There are a lot of computures.. comapred to the number of students who use the. they are slow compared to what I am personally used to but they definatly won't leave you waiting an hour to open a site. But wireless is alsomst nowhere to be found.
