There are several places where one can study on campus; there are plenty of computers for everyone and always a Starbucks not to far from it for all you all nighter types. :D

The school is mostly populated by white people, but is very accepting to all races, religions, sexualities, and nationalities. There are several international students that work and/or attend the university. The university also conducts exchange programs which also brings more diversity to the campus. The one thing that I like best about Florida is that thy give everyone to express themselves. Every culture has a student organization that puts on monthly events to raise cultural awareness. every political belief is free to hand out flyers. An sexual orientation is not an issue, there are clubs, events, and parades that support all sexualities. Florida is the most diverse college, were everyone is accepted for who they are.

Greek life is a huge part of the social atmosphere at Florida. There are several Greek organizations and they all give back to the community. Greek life is viewed highly favorable among non-Greek students. Greek life is a choice and it is not for everyone but it has its benefits. At Florida there are three types of living for Greek housing. There are on-campus housing split between fraternity drive and sorority row. There is also off campus housing that Greek organizations own. Lastly, some Greek students do live in the on-campus dorms that are available to all students.

Florida has a lot of off-campus housing offers. The more roommates you have the cheaper the rent. You can get room that are styled from studios to four bedrooms. The closer you live to campus the more expensive the rent will be. I have never lived off campus during my undergraduate studies due to convenience and the bus schedule. If you live off-campus you have to live your apartment 30 minutes before your class starts to make sure you arrive on time. Off-campus is safe because most complexes are gated and parking is abundant. Florida is really good at allowing apartment complexes to advertise on campus, so students have off-campus housing information readily available to them.

University of Florida has a great athletics department. The atmosphere at games is very exhilarating especially at football games. UF students can go all games except for football games for free. Students can sign up for the student lottery tickets for football games for about $100 and if you are lucky enough you win 7 tickets to all the home games. You can even sell the tickets and make some extra money. But, I'd rather go to the games. It's great to be a Florida gator! :)

The professors really help you get interested in a topic and tend to go into great detail because they are so excited about what they are teaching. They make you want to learn more. There were very few days that I dreaded going to class. The workload is manageable and still challenging without being overwhelming. There are always independent study options, study abroad opportunities, and even TA spots open.

Parking on campus can be crazy! It's hard to find a spot and I know multiple people who have gotten tickets, even multiple ones in the same day!
College Sophomore 2013-07-29T05:38:34Z
There is absolutely nothing like Gator Athletics! Students get free tickets to all of the games, except football and you just have to register for the basketball ones. It's great to be able to go and support fellow students and sit amongst Alumni.

I love being an Elementary Education major at the University of Florida. The professors are really interested in helping you succeed and teaching you ways to be a great teacher! The ProTeach Program is especially great!

I just wish that I thought long and hard about majors and careers before I started.

There's always something to do if you're bored! Love UF!

Some science classes are super hard but I still love the overall college experience at UF. Would not choose any other school if I had the chance to do it again.

Playing sports and attending games is very common. The gyms and other athletic facilities are some of the nicest facilities on campus. Almost everyone plays some sort of intramural sport.
College Sophomore 2013-07-28T19:10:51Z
Fun! But sometimes hard to get into places or even have fun if you aren't 21.

Awful, gross food at the dining halls. Meal plans are expensive. The food on individual places on campus are good but expensive.
College Sophomore 2013-07-28T19:08:22Z
There are drugs, I am sure, in frat houses, parties etc. I have see them at those places but I have never been pressured or felt uncomfortable because I am not involving myself with them.

Clean, but alot of students do Adderall to help study. There is also alcohol use and zanax.

Webmail email system is not so great but they are making improvements.

Greek life is huge at UF. Everything at UF is about greek life. However, if you are not in a sorority or frat then things can get tough and it may be hard to make friends.

There are a lot of good and new places to eat around Gainesville that you wouldn't find at home. The prices are fair and a lot of restaurants have deals on certain days. For example Tiuana Flats has taco Tuesdays which will get somebody two tacos chips and a drink for $5.
College Sophomore 2013-07-25T22:35:46Z
The buses run until 3 AM to certain locations which makes it easy to get around at night. During the day the bus system runs all over campus as well as around the town to make it easy to not only get to classes but also around campus. The one down side is that the buses run late a lot and fill up easily.

Guys & Girls:
Many are friendly, and some can be a little cocky and annoying, but if you don't mind that, you should not have much of a problem. However, be careful when it comes to wild parties.

Enough Labs for All Students – There are a good number of computer labs located in the libraries and the student union for students. However, the afternoon hours have the most people, so if you want to have a good quiet space and an available computer, its best to stop by in the morning.
College Junior 2013-07-25T21:52:37Z
Some professors are friendly and are eager to teach their classes, while others aren't. However, all have various honors for their teaching and research. Don't be the student that comes to class but never asks questions, or wait until exam time to see the professor. That is what office hours are for.

If you are a party person, there are lots of clubs and parties advertised on social media. No club tolerates underage drinking, so if you want to drink and you're under 21, you are out of luck.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
