As I'm only a freshman I haven't had very many Biomedical Engineering courses yet, but from what I know, this is a very difficult field to get into because you don't get to apply for the actual program until year and the University is very selective with who gets to enter. Thus it is very important to do the best of your abilities in your General Courses to be able to enter the Biomedical Engineering program your junior year.

Most of the professors are helpful and know how to teach their class, the curriculum isn't that overbearing so that it takes away all your free time but it is still rigorous and requires a lot of focus for you to succeed.

There are definitely a variety of places to choose from, ranging from typical chain restaurants to local restaurants that you would only find in Gainesville.

I liked living on campus. It was easy to get to know peopl and convenient to get to class.

I like the engineering program. It can be difficult to get all the classes you need when you need them.

I haven't had any internships yet but plan to have one. There are good career services at UF, however, there is a lot of competition for the internships. I will probably seek one on my own.

I entered my major Freshman year and had no problem. I was able easily meet with my advisor and we set a path of study. There was no special application process.

UF has an excellent engineering school. I would recommend it to anyone. Their graduates have jobs in top firms. I would definitely choose this major again. I hope to get a job in a top engineering firm and I think I will be able to get one.

In order to receive aid, one must fill out the FAFSA before UF's specific deadline then wait and view the financial aid package once it is disbursed.

this college is very diverse, there is always an array of people from different ethnic backgrounds on a daily basis

there is parking available, I am just not to fond of the whole idea of being able to park somewhere because one is an upperclassman.

Nightlife is great here! You can get into most places 18+ and there is always a way to get around. You can use SNAP, Gotcha or one of the later gator buses to get home.

It starts to rain and it is difficult to get to class.

Guys & Girls:
There is a mixed variety. The frat/sorrority complex is pretty apparent at UF. There are also many jocks walking around campus, but can be found around Turlington Plaza. Everyone else seems to be pretty diverse.

It's usually pretty hot year round. Between Jan - April, cooler temperatures and rain can creep up into the forecast. It's Florida, but not as hot as Miami!

Gainesville is definitely a college town. If you love football and a big campus atmosphere this place is for you. Drive a little bit away from the campus and you'll find National Parks and lakes where there are a lot of outdoor activities to be had. Make sure to go to a Gator Game and travel across University Ave for some grub at The Swamp!

It was hard for me to find a possible internship in psychology. Many of them are filled up many months before school starts.

I love psychology. Sometimes it is difficult to understand what my professor want from me in regards to papers but it is still manageable.

UF is a very diverse university with students from everywhere. There are also lots of different groups with different interests, beliefs, cultures and orientations.

I think they are nice enough. Some of the newer dorms are great and have separate rooms, like an apartment set up. Others are older. The cost is affordable and the convenience is pretty good since they are right on campus.

Good transportation. Buses aren't usually full. Several shuttles to take you to bars downtown so you don't have to drink and drive. Seems good to me.

It rains alot in the summer and can get pretty hot but it isnt bad.Winters get cold, but they are mild. The biggest effect of weather is getting rained out unexpectedly, but if you watch the weather and carry an umbrella when it may rain, your fine.

I would say the nightlife is pretty good overall. The fraternities have parties every week, although you wont get into those without being a member outside of summer. There is a strip of bars and clubs close to the university, that is fairly nice. There is a good crowd most nights. The places are easy to get into, but getting alcohol underage varies from place to place. There are buses, but not many that run late at night. There is a program called SNAP that is free transportation for students that runs very late, it may be 24/7 but im not sure.

UF has a lot to offer to students. It is a beautiful campus and we have an awesome staff, people are really willing to help students! There are tons of programs and majors

We have free bus transportation and it is very convenient, buses run every 10 minutes.
