Health & Safety:
UF eagerly seeks all kinds of ways to ensure safety and finds ways to implement them within our campus. We have our own police department, the UFPD :)

I love it because of its challenging course work, opportunity filled campus, and enjoyable/bright staff that are always at my service as a student.

There are plenty of restaurants around Gainesville. They have the same fast food restaurants that you would find in your home town. There are even some that are unique.

They can do anything that any home computer can. The have multiple resources on them that can only be used on there campus. They are available for use at almost anytime.

I never lived on campus so I don't know what the experience is like

Although they do not have the dual major I had originally wanted the school will definitely work with you to make your dreams come true. Advisers work really well for you as long as you go and see them. They guide you through the process of attaining you major as well as tracking that you are doing well.

UF has a great academic program. It engages all of its students with great benefits, as well as keeps us all very informed about what is going on around campus. Most of my teachers are very willing to led a helping hand, and teach us of their ways and help better perform ourselves. I love my school.

Although I haven't gotten the best of grades, I can definitely feel the difference and quality of education is top notch. Most of my professors make their classes interesting and engage the students. Some of the classes are unorthodox and the teachers are very into their subject matter. I will say it is not easy to get the desired A everyone wants to get, but I will say its definitely worth the effort.

Guys & Girls:
You will find all types of men and woman at the UF. Most people are very approachable and easy to talk to. Since there are so many clubs and groups at the University, you are basically guaranteed to make some really great friends. Be open, and try new things, you never know if the next thing you start to join is the Quidditch team. :)

The food is good, but there is little variety. It gets boring.

At UF, you have a wide, wide range of Majors to choose from

All and all, campus housing is like most other colleges. There are some good options, but there are downsides to most places (too far away, no AC in a couple of halls, sharing a room, etc.)
College Junior 2012-11-12T18:00:51Z
Overall, UF is a pretty safe campus, so there is a level of strictness, but students also have quite a bit of flexibility

Campus dining at the University of Florida is average at best. There are a few places that would be considered dining halls, and they are filled with average food that they serve every single day. The one thing that is interesting about our campus dining is that we have a few restaurants on campus that you can use a "declining balance" card at. These restaurants include Moes, Chilis, Starbucks, Subway, Panda Express, and many more. Our Reitz Union includes many of these options and I believe that is where you will find the best healthy and various options for dining on campus.

My financial aid process at the University of Florida was a bit of a struggle in the beginning, but I have learned how to be successful through it. I have learned that if you have any questions or need to take out loans or cancel a loan, you need to go directly to the office of financial aid, Criser Hall, and speak to someone directly. They are very helpful there and will put you on the right track.

The parking situation at the Univeristy of Florida is absolutely horrendous. There are only a few parking lots that students are able to park in, and not even every student is allowed to park in them. Also, if we are not residents on campus we can only park in one parking lot that is extremely far away from most, especially my classes.

As an architecture major one of the advantages of the UF Citylab Program is the preparation that it gives to its students for the professional world. Although I havent had the chance to find an internship that suits my interests I definity plan on getting one soon. Accoring to my classmates who have an intership the pay is pretty decent and the workload varies depending on your skills.

As an Architecture major, I am very satisfed with my program. I had the opportunity to stay in my local town and save money on out of state tuition and other room and board expenses. I have access to quality education from one of the best school in the state for my field and the possibility networking with local architects while getting involved with the local AIA (American Institute of Architects) chapter. If I had the opportunity I would definitely do it all over again. My career goals are far more achievable with this program since I have internship possibilities that would eventually allow me to get my architecture license. One concern that I currently have with the field that I chose is the lack of security the architecture profession has. Unfortunately, architects as not as well regarded as they used to be in the past.

I am currently enrolled in the UF Citylab Masters program of Architecture based in Downtown Orlando, FL. Since, the program was recently established, there are a few disadvantages. However, I have enjoyed the program since its curriculum offers a strong basis for the study of architecture in the urban environment and the design studio fosters critical analysis thru a demanding and interesting set of problematic scenarios presented in the local community to be solved architecturally. The workload is very demanding as any architecture school, but the exposure to the local architecture community is one of the perks of being in the heart of Downtown therefore the possibilities for internships are definitelly far more. Even though the facility is small, it offers a good 24 hour studio space with available printers, 24 hour security, and free parking!!

The Program has an organized system of admissions validated thru the NAAB accreditation which is clearly based on a combination of portfolio strength as well as GPA.

UF is known for their academics. Just keep in mind that this is a research university. In order for faculty to get promoted and keep their jobs they must publish. This can take away focus from teaching.
College Senior 2012-11-11T20:53:44Z
Everything is very silod. You will get shipped from office to office and do not expect extra special accommodations; the school is too large for that. Registration is easy and if you have enough aid coming in they do a good job on deferring payments. Some residence halls are not A/C, BIG deal in Florida. Definitely make sure where you live is near classes. It is easier to walk versus driving.

Varsity sports at UF are enormous. Every student is trying to get a ticket for the game, or tailgate and then watch it with some buddies. All of the gyms are extremely nice, spacious, and have a lot of equipment. Recreational and club sports are easy to join and very fun. You can play basically any sport you want.

Bus transportation is extremely user-friendly. You access bus schedules and a real-time map of the bus locations through the bus website or through the UF mobile application. At night, UF has Student Nighttime Auxiliary Patrol (SNAP) vans and other free transportation that you can call to request a pick up.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
