It Was Ok – Being from a caribbean background I found there was not a sufficient balance of ethnicity. But other than that everything was quite good. Extremely organized

College City! Gainesville is a college city, meaning there is always something going on. Whether it is a game, or a concert, or even a house party, you will never be bored!

Hard but Totally Worth It! It is very hard to get into the University of Florida; however it is even harder to graduate from it. Te classes are extremely hard. It is not a school that you have the time to party and forget about school. You definitely have to manage your time and make sure you don't fall behind in your school work. Health & Safety:
Really Safe – With the SNAP program and the campus police on duty, I feel very safe at UF. The police are also very accommodating when it comes to people being out late at night studying - there had been a stabbing and I was out studying in one of the class halls so I called and asked for an escort, and a police car arrived within 5 minutes to follow me home on my bike.

The weather in Gainesville changes at the drop of a hat. It could be freezing in the morning (requiring 3 or 4 layers of clothing) and then by mid-day the temperature will have risen to about 85-90. It rains a lot too - and the rain starts and stops frequently.

When you get into Gainesville, the city is practically taken up by the campus. Go out a few miles and you're already in Alachua. The outskirts are a bit poor and not necessarily the safest place to be at night, but I love it here because everyone, and I DO mean everyone is so friendly and welcoming. I like Gainesville SO much better than Miami for that reason.

More Diversity – As much "diversity" as there is off campus, this is a college town so a lot of it is fast food or chain places. I haven't really found many "gems," but what I have had has almost always been delicious.

Guys & Girls:
Something for ALMOST Anyone. You find almost anything and everything here at UF. They are pretty easy to section off and find. You have your tan gym junkies (who stick out with their hairgel and cutoff muscle shirts/tanks), the athletes of course, the Panhellenics and other Sorority girls. With their distinguishable navy/orange windbreakers, the hipsters, the "fashionable" crowd, and everything in between. There are a many attractive people here, their personalities however are up for questions.

It's Pretty Good! I think that the off-campus food is pretty good from what I've seen!

Guys & Girls:
Good Attractive People – You'll find all sorts of different kind of people at the university, there should be someone that is attractive to everyone because everyone finds someone different who is attractive to them. The girls are hot but if you're not from around here it might take a while to get use to the accents.

Good and Spacious – I enjoy living at the university. the housing is spacious, and the rooms are affordable, it is located close to the cafeteria and there is a vending machine in the hallway. It is convient to get to all my classes on time and close drive to the city. I visit my family when I have some time off.

Good Programs Offered – Good programs offered and when you complete the programs you can get a good degree. Videos were good that they showed the class in the introduction to criminal justice class. Graduations party I hear is awesome too. I have a lot of friends at the university and there in the student groups with me. Overall, good programs offered.

I like the athletic facilities that the university has to offer but I don't have the time to use them. I find that there is way too much work at university and that the work is too hard. I also don't like the professors very much. They are very strict and have a dark attitude towards the students. I did enjoy the videos we got to watch during some of our classes. The cafeterias at the university is awesome. I really like the scenery around the university also. Last, university would be awesome if there was not so much homework and the homework was not so hard.

I would say its pretty similar to what you would find in Florida. A good percentage is Caucasian, but definitely a variety of all other ethnic groups. There is a large number of Hispanics as well.

On-Campus Good for Two Years Tops. I stayed in the dorm my first two years and moved off-campus my last two. I enjoyed it my freshman year and it was really nice for the transition time. But actually with the amount of off-campus apartments that exist in Gainesville, the dorms probably serve their purpose for tops two years. No need to go beyond that. They are actually more that are a better deal that staying in the dorms.

Guys & Girls:
Most of the girls here are good looking, but that's just the tip of the iceberg. They are also often fit and always well educated and self-motivated; qualities which most find very attractive.

The police on campus do a good job of making you feel safe. They have put to use good practices such as our emergency night lights and emergency buttons that are around the campus. The police are also very good about responding to complaints such as thefts.

Dancing the Night Away! Gainesville really is a college town. There are a plethora of bars, clubs, and hangouts that range from being laid back to paint throwing crazy. Downtown clubs throw a bunch of themed events and are good about bringing in interesting DJ's and other entertainment. The bars in midtown are relaxing and chill if you just need a drink after a long day. There are also a plethora of school sponsored events like sports games that are consistently going on. If you lean away from sports and towards the arts then you may find entertainment in the local museums, gardens and nature walks.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
