Although the off-campus dining options are quaint, there are not that many, not to mention that they are a good 15-20 minute bus ride off of campus which is not exactly convenient.

I am not a huge sports person but there is an extremely large fan base for the Gators here that carries our school to a high level nationally. School spirit is both intense and immense.

There is definitely diversity on campus and there is a fairly general acceptance of said diversity although there is room for improvement on the extent to which our campus is culturally diverse.

I really enjoy my placement in the Liberal Arts and Sciences College as a Biology major while simultaneously being in the Honors Program. I love that I can do interdisciplinary classes such as X-Lab which combine lab credits for biology, chemistry and physics into a single 3-credit course.

I have not yet experienced an internship although from what I understand, they are readily available for the upperclassmen.

My favorite place to eat off campus is the Indian restaurant by my apartment. It is a little pricey but the food is amazing and the service is great! I have never had such amazing indian food until I tried this place. Other than indian there is also Chinese, Japanese, Vietnamese, Cuban, Colombian, Mexican, and Steakhouses around campus. There is something for any appetite. The costs range from about $5.00 to $20.00 a meal depending on how fancy you want to be. However, the costs really do work out for a college student. The more you pay, usually, the larger your portion. There are always leftovers, no matter where you're eating.

Almost everything at UF revolves around the football season. It's so much fun to see all your fellow gators dress up and cheer on the team in matching colors. It provides a lot of school pride and union within all the groups. Other than football, all athletic events are free for students and provide even more chances for school pride. Not only do you get in for free but a lot of athletic events on campus provide freebies and prizes. The Rowdy Gators is a perfect way to get involved with the athletics in school. Not only is it a great group to join but it also brings students together to admire the athletics at UF. Almost every student is involved in a sport, goes to one of the many athletic facilities for exercise, or loves to observe competitions and events.

I live 3 miles away from campus and that's considered to be too far! I love how off-campus living seems to be the norm in Gainesville. The University of Florida has its own department that only focuses on off-campus life. They have activities for students to get involved and meet other students. It's one of my favorite things about UF. No matter how far away I live from campus, I have plenty of ways to get involved with other students and administrators. It's also very safe to live off-campus. Most communities are gated and have their own security systems within each apartment. Sometimes living off campus can also be more affordable than living on campus. There is a supermarket within a mile anywhere you are so you can always do a quick shop and feed yourself affordably.

I personally don't drive my car to campus, but after parking regulations are lifted it's great!!! Everyday after 4:30pm I know I can drive to campus and park wherever I want without any difficulties.

In the libraries and computer labs there are always plenty of computers to spare. Personally, I have my own computer but it is nice to know that if I forget my laptop at home I can always stop by library West and work for a few hours. printing is also free at certain locations on campus! It's great to know that if I'm ever stuck in an emergency I can go to the Reitz and print my assignment. Wireless access is also great on campus! No matter where I am I know that I can connect to the UF wifi network.

I love Gainesville. Coming from Miami I feel like everything is at my doorstep. All of the restaurants serve exceptional meals and it's all within 5 miles. As long as I have transportation, I feel like living off campus is one of the best decisions I have made. Everything is so close Gainesville almost feels like a very small town. You almost forget that there are actual residents living in the area. There are tons of activities ranging from the movie theatres to Lake Warburg. For a small town Gainesville is also very live and eventful. There are always weekend events in town right around the corner from campus.

Greek life gives the University of Florida it's own kind of vibe around campus. It's nice to see sorority sisters walking around campus together and the same for frat brothers. My best friend is in a sorority and I feel like although she is now busier than before she has grown into a greater person. Greek life allows people to branch out and meet others. In a campus of 50,000 students having a way to branch out is an excellent way to enjoy the college experience. My best friend will always be a great friend of mine no matter if they're Greek or not.

Every Thursday to Saturday night there is always something to do around campus. Have it be a night out in Midtown or Downtown there are plenty of locations to find your individual scene. I personally love the midtown area because it reminds me of home. It's very relaxed in some areas but there's always somewhere to have fun.

I love how at UF we all have something different about ourselves. In Miami, it is normal to be Hispanic middle class, but at UF being Hispanic and middle class almost seems exotic. It's nice to finally be somewhere where I am not considered average but different to everyone I see on campus. It really gives you a great feeling of being unique.

I did not receive any financial aid because I did not apply
College Freshman 2013-11-17T19:33:14Z
The campus has very accessible facilities that are easy to use.
College Freshman 2013-11-17T19:32:04Z
There are many great local restaurants. The local places are very kind to students and can provide students with hands on experience if needed.

Guys & Girls:
A lot of girls and guys fall into stereotypical fraternity and sorority characters.

During the summer months it almost always pours in the afternoons. The summer months are incredibly hot. The weather doesnt start getting cool until at least november and even then there can be days with highs in the 80s
College Freshman 2013-11-17T19:28:10Z
The worst is the parking. Campus is incredibly strict with parking.
College Freshman 2013-11-17T19:26:58Z
The classes are okay and some I enjoy more than others. What is the good life is awful. The extracurriculars are great! Theater Strike Force is a ton of fun. There are clubs in almost anything you can think of which makes campus a ton of fun. There are always events going on.
College Freshman 2013-11-17T19:25:59Z
Most of the core business classes are online. There are tracking classes that keep you on track to graduate.
College Freshman 2013-11-17T19:25:59Z
The only class that is awful as a freshman is What is the Good Life. Although it depends on the professor, What is the Good Life is one of the worst classes I've ever taken and it is required for all freshmen.
College Freshman 2013-11-17T19:23:41Z
There could be more places and better places. There are a lot of places close to campus though
College Freshman 2013-11-17T19:22:28Z
I do not have great insight into the diversity on campus, but I would say we are pretty diverse.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
