Walk and Bus – Many people walk to and from class given the climate, but for farther classes, people enjoy scooting, using the bus, and biking. Really a preference. Buses are free, but you must plan around their route schedules.

You Can Park on Campus, but You'll Pay – Expensive decals for students. Parking is merit-based on your number of credit hours. Most freshman/sophomores have limited, out-of-the-way parking options. Even if you have a decal, you may not have a place to park. On football gamedays, don't even think about moving your car from a parking spot.

True College Town – There's midtown and downtown to hang out in the local community in Gainesville. Not much more than that. But both locations are dense with local college culture and local residents who enjoy the college students' company.

Decals are too expensive but necessary if you have a car. Only good thing is limited parking during non-school hours.

Getting financial aid is relatively easy but a long process. It has been easy to handle all of my finances with the school, but I have heard of students being charged twice for tuition and having to sort that out to some dismay. Overall, I believe the best way to get financial aid is to do everything early and monitor your financial aid closely to ensure that you are aware of what needs to be done to receive financial aid.

Ticketing and Fines – When it comes to parking on University of Florida campus and tickets, it seems that there are cameras on every single parking spot. Usually within 5 minutes of an expired meter a ticket will be given and at the hefty price of 30 dollars. It is best to utilize the bus system to travel around campus, instead of a personal vehicle.

Computer Labs – The computers located in the University of Florida computer lab are extremely helpful, so much in fact, that a laptop is not necessarily needed. There are always computers available and ready to use. The only bothersome area is the lengthy time it takes to log into the domain, but besides that the computer lab is an excellent substitute to a personal computer.

No Concerns. I feel comfortable where I am in the program. I enjoy the classes I'm taking, but I'm not even taking the classes that teach me what real health sciences is about. I would do it all the same if I had the chance, I love my major.

It is very hard to receive financial aid unless your family is poor. College is expensive even for families that make average or even slightly below average to be able to afford. However, financial aid only seems to help those who are way below average. Even if a person with an average family income receives aid, it is in the form of loans not grants or scholarships.
