I'm not sure of my field yet but if I stick with it, I plan to get a Master's degree in Counseling so that I can be a Guidance Counselor or so that I can be a counselor in general for people who need help. I am afraid that I won't be able to find a job in the education system when I graduate but I am hoping for the best and trying to think of many options after I graduate.

Guys & Girls:
Guys and Girls – A lot of the students main interest is to party and go to Midtown and Frat Row, but a lot also go to school clubs and events on campus. The school is really diverse but overall the students dress well.

I loved the meal plan that I had over Summer B and the food in the dining halls and around campus is really good. Sometimes I hear others complaining but there is so much variety that it's really good to me. I don't like that Taco Bell was removed! But I'll survive.

Easy to Find – I am alerted about new internships by my college's advisor every week. I'm not so sure about actually getting one, but I know that finding them is quite simple.

There are plenty of places to grab grub off and near campus but the they're all very similar and so it gets tiring eating the smae thing over and over again. The places with real diversity are pretty far from campus.

What Drugs ? The drugs at UF are not publicized and there more known drinking accidents or problems than anything.

Gyms Are Great ! The gyms at UF are amazing and always fun to go to after a long day of studying. From volleyball to racquetball, everything is available, including eyegeear and nets. Not only are the gyms great, but the libraries are comfy and easy to get work done in, and fast food places are always wonderful !

The computers at UF are great, but they are quite limited. Finding available computers during the day is near impossible, and if one is able to acquire one, he or she is quite lucky !

Being Well-Rounded. The process of getting into the Honors program was quite simple. Once I got my invitation, I simply wrote my essay and then waited for my letter of acceptance. People complain that it is unfair that only a few people get invitations when they all made the same grades, but I find myself realizing that being in honors is no different.

Greeks Are Greeks. I find it difficult to approach people who are apart of fraternities and sororities. They do not seem to give off a welcoming vibe and tend to hang out among themselves. It's like they live in a whole different world from the rest of the people on campus.

Parking at UF is insane. There always seems to be half the amount of parking spaces as there are students. Because parking is expensive, it causes the buses to be overcrowded and in some cases, very dangerous. If they could make parking a bit easier and more convenient, transportation at UF would be much improved.

The rustic looking buildings and the oak tree lined roads provide for an excellent learning atmospere. Besides, come Saturday, one can enjoy the college football atmosphere to a new extreme with the stadium centrally located in the heart of the University.

This is an excellent way to travel around Gainesville, and it is free to students/teachers with a valid University ID. The only downfall RTS has is that it can be packed at times (especially in the mornings and afternoons). Then again, it is free transportation! This is nice to have when gas is above $3 a gallon!

Chick Fil-A – They have a buy one get one special on Wednesdays for students with a valid gator 1. AS an added bonus, while you enjoy your meal, you can also play bingo for a chance to win additional items.

No Shortage of Options – A person has several options when it comes to transportation. Use of the bus system is free for students, the city, campus especially, is very bicycle friendly. If a person doesn't want that, they can always walk, purchase a decal and drive, drive a scooter, use the university cab system. Florida does very well in accomodating its students in this aspect.

Let's Not Be Naive – As the title says, every university has alcohol and druge use, especially one as large as Florida. However, the public visibility of it and peer pressure for it is not worrisome, though at football games one will see a lot of drunk people walking about and will hear peers underage talking about drinkign. University and city police do well in enforcing university policy and regulating drug/alcohol usage.

Variety of Options and Affordability – Florida offers various university-sponsored apartments and there are numerous independent complexes within close proximity of the campus. The rent, however, can range from decent to expensive and may or may not include utilities.

Good for Social Events – Living on campus is very good for social gatherings since most club events are on campus. It is easier to wake up and go to class. You can also go back to your dorm room after each class.

Good but Semi-Expensive – Dining qualities are mediocre; there are many options, but not all the food is ideally inexpensive and good. The better places to eat are more expensive on a college student budget. In addition, the dining halls do not always have fresh food.

Drinking Over Smoking – I am not aware of any drug issues on campus. I have seen two or three people smoking, but I don't believe it's a big problem at UF. Drinking, however, is much more wide known activity as many do drink I believe. This usually occurs right after exams and/or during "frat" parties.

I am not part of the Greek Life, so I know very little about it. But from my view point, many people are a part of it. There are always parties every week. However, you are not treated differently if you are not in a sorority or fraternity.

The University of Florida campus has a wide range of ethnic/racial groups. Everybody is different, but we all blend in. The campus accepts people of all types of backgrounds, including different political beliefs and/or sexual orientation. Students are normally very supportive of others.

Hot Hot Hot – during the beginning of the fall semester and throughout it the weather is extremely hot, so walking to classes can become sluggish and a sweating experience.

Wish I Knew What I Was Doing – It might have been because I didn't understand how financial aid really worked but I did receive financial aid from the school. Make sure you go in and make appointments if you notice any discrepancy. Don't wait, get it resolved A.S.A.P
