Varsity sports is a big part of the school. The Ramsey center is one of the best gyms in the nation

I have never received financial aid from my school.

Health & Safety:
I do not feel unsafe at the University of Georgia. Police are all over campus and there is rarely a threat of danger.

Guys & Girls:
The guys all seem pretty down to earth. You have a variety of them on campus. For example, you have the nerdy, preppy, fratty, and jocks all in the same University. There really aren't that many conflicts that arise with guys at school. Everyone usually gets along well from my knowledge.

I love being in the Terry College of Business. There are so many great networking, study-abroad, and job opportunities. The business school has many great alumni that are willing to help recent graduates get jobs. The teachers in the business school are top notch and have been known to win many awards throughout the school.

The University of Georgia is re-known for its academics. It is ranked number 16th of the top public university list by forbes. We have a phenomenal business and journalism school that is ranked high in Consumer Reports. The other colleges within UGA have an intellectual group of faculty and staff that helps students achieve their academic goals on a day-to-day basis.

There are a variety of nightclubs for students. Music is very diverse and there's a place to go for everyone with different tastes. The guy to girl ratio is kind of bad, but other than that the nightlife is pretty good.

UGA is all about creating spaces for students to gather. There is plenty of green spaces to just sit down, relax, study, whatever. A common hangout spot on campus is the SLC (MLC) or Tate.Theres everything in these two buildings and they conveniently are located across from each other. A lot of classes are held in the SLC which is where people gather to study and hang out and just across the way you can grab a bite at one of the many food spots.

If you can think of it, Athens probably has it. Clubs, dining, theaters, music, movies, zoo, shopping, etc. Downtown is usually always busy, but come the weekends it is packed. No matter what you and your friends are into, im sure you can find it here. There is honestly never a dull moment in this town.

There's not much you can't love. The campus is so pretty, there is always something to see or do. I can't speak for other academic programs, but SPIA is amazing. I love the school, the advisors, the professors and the classes.

As long as you mind your own business and keep out of trouble you wont have problems. The police aren't harassing or bothersome. The campus is amazing. There really isnt any school policies that are really strict, grades are just really important. Other than that, you can really get away with a lot.

I have wonderful professors and advisors in the area of sociology! They are always eager to help. I would not change a single thing.

The university has a pretty rigorous curriculum. Be prepared to study A LOT!

Alcohol is going to be present on any college campus, but the University Police Department does a very good job controlling it.

I have been blessed with the opportunity to participate in the local sorority Xi Delta. It has been the most wonderful experience I could imagine. I have made friends that I will have for a lifetime. There will always be people who view Greek life as a bad thing, but I have had only good things happen. It has brought me to my sisters, and out of my shy personality.

From what I've heard greek life is definitely you want to get involved with if you have the time.

I don't know much about the athletic facilities since I just transferred and have not been to a football game yet but I do know we have an awesome football team, go DAWGS! Their rivals are the Georgia Tech's yellow jackets, Wreck Tech!

Even though I don't do the nightlife here in Athens, I heard a lot of the same stories from people. You don't have to be 21 to be out with your friends bar hopping, getting into them with fake IDs, and the bartenders don't even check IDs when students are purchasing drinks. Apparently, my friends say it's entertaining when it comes to drunk people. But beware of the cops, they are always on the lookout, you do not want to be on the cover of Red & Black.
College Senior 2013-07-29T14:20:35Z
There are plenty of restaurants that are open at the latest 3 in the morning if you are looking for a late night dinner while taking a study break. That is like the norm for a lot of college students here. They even include delivery late at night, depending which restaurants you choose to eat. Don't forget to check out the handy dandy student coupon book that was provided at the beginning of the semester to check out for great meal deals and what not.
College Freshman 2013-07-29T04:48:53Z
There are many parking spots and decks available all throughout campus
College Freshman 2013-07-29T04:47:36Z
Most of the students are white, but there are enough students of other ethnicity as to not "count them out"
College Freshman 2013-07-29T04:46:41Z
Athens is quite a town on its own; it sets a perfect atmosphere for a college: Secluded, full of its own achievement, and ripe.

I declared my major right off the bat going into freshman year. I am happy with my choice because I am 100% certain that this is what I want to do, but I am not entirely happy with the way this program is VERY tailored to pushing prospective educators into Title 1, inner-city, struggling schools, and not encouraging a variety of different teaching goals. I was the ONLY person in my entire class last semester who wanted to teach in a private school. This program is pretty darn liberal and all about public-school teaching, making no accommodations if you care to learn about anything else.
College Senior 2013-07-29T03:35:33Z
You need a personal computer, just because of all the assignments you have to do on a computer that you'll want to be able to do from the comfort of your own room/house/apartment. There's reliable wifi that covers the entire campus.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
