Greek life is a very big thing on campus for pan-hellenic and non pan-hellenic greeks. However, there is certainly life outside of greekdom! From the outside looking in, you would have a blast going greek and you can have a blast without it.

Work Hard Play Hard – It is not impossible, but depending on your major it can be quite challenging. As long as you pay attention in class, visit teachers during office hours, and use all the time outside of class to study and find help then on the weekend (Thursday-Sunday) you can party!

Reseach Professor Suck – I am a science major and some of the professors only teacher because they have to have the hours in so their research will be funded. If you find this is ever the case. USE THE FREE TUTORING PROGRAMS!

Busy Buses – The buses are usually crowded during the exchange of classes. You may even miss three buses that you need before you can catch the bus to get where you need to go. Regardless of that, the buses are very reliable. It is a pain to ride them on the weekends though.

Upperclassman Have Better Dorms – UGA offers a lot of options for both underclassman and upperclassman but the upperclassman have a little bit of better options and have more priority than underclassman

Sports are highly centered in the core of UGA and Athens itself. Football season is really big here and there is always a lot of excitement and school spirit displayed on campus on game days.

From the school buses, to the Athens transit buses, from the escort service vans. An endless opportunity of transportation to choose from in Athens.

Apartments Are Reasonable – There are a variety of different off campus housing opportunities in Athens. The rent payments are reasonable and some establishments are nice while others are on the run-down side.

Great, but I wish they had more flexibility – As a freshman, it's a must and the food is great. I decided to go for round 2 living off campus sophomore year, and I didn't really get my moneys worth because it was a pain to go to campus for 3-4 meals a day. I'd still be on it if you could do something like 10 meals a week or something that about every school does.
That said, the food is awesome. Missing those ECV smoothies and the Ohouse stir fry.

I just moved off campus. The safety and parking is great. The landlords are super nice as well. I am enjoying the space and the community I am in. I am very close to food places as well as shopping. A con I see right now is the catching buses. I am still working those out.

Greeks Are Ok With Non-Greeks – The two do not differentiate themselves from each other. Greeks and non greeks throw parties. No status thing.

Sometimes it's easy to find parking depending on the time comign in the parking lots and decks.

There are plenty of off-campus housing options. Although parking at the University of Georgia is an utter mess.

Sports are huge at UGA. There is nothing else to say.

The WiFi in the dorms and all around campus is paid-for with your student fees. They are slow and sometimes even impossible to get on the internet. The computer lab consoles also take forever to log on. There is printing at Tate that you have to pay for.

Student Teaching and Intership Abroad – Neither of my internships were paid, but I felt as though both of them were great! The first was an agriculture research internship in Greece. I received a scholarship that helped pay for my room and board, meals and airfare. This program was easy to find out more information about and was also easy to apply to. The student teaching experience (required) was just as good.

Apply! The state of Georgia is always in need of certified teachers, especially in technical areas like agriculture.

More Hands on Needed, Less Education in Agriculture Education – I think that more hands on courses should be required for an Agriculture Education degree. The first day I walked in the school greenhouse, I didn't even know how to turn on the water!

Good Instructors, Limited Online Programs – I wish that more online graduate programs were offered by the University of Georgia.

Good Systems Can Always Be Improved – I feel that the information on Graduate school tuition is a little fuzzy. A more clear tuition schedule needs to be created. I would also like to see an exemption form or tab on the website. Graduate students who are completing their degree totally online should be exempt from certain fees.

The main strict policy that we have that i know of is the academic policy. It's basically to not cheat. There's also academic probation for students who aren't meeting the grades. As far as our social lives, the school itself doesn't seem to get involved unless a student gets arrested for something.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
