"This Is Not for Me" Is Not an Excuse – UGA has a student body that bonds over football and student activities. Even if you are a new student, which I was last year, you will automatically feel accepted once you show your school spirit. UGA holds a of pride in its athletics. Once you share that pride, you become apart of something that no other school can offer.

UGA has an extreme sense of tradition amongst its students. It is felt wherever you go around campus. We have activities everyday on campus, therefore one could never be bored, especially during football season!

Guys & Girls:
Hot Girls & Guys – There are plenty of attractive girls and guys on campus. You won't have to look hard.

Health & Safety:
Total Safety – Not only does Athens have the Athens-Clakre county police, but UGA has their own police force as well. There are always cops roaming everywhere making sure everything is safe. IF there is something to worry about, they send you a text message and e-mail. I have never felt uncomfortable or unsafe on campus!

TONS OF CHOICES! We have four dining halls on campus! They are located on different parts of campus so everyone has easy access to at least one or two of them! The food is delicious. There is always a HUGE variety! The dining halls can become very crowded at times during the normal hours of breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Best food anywhere! The absolute best part about it all is they are open 24/7!

Apartments/Housing Go Quickly – Because there are so many students and people that live in Athens, it may be hard to find an apartment/house if you wait too late. Most students start the process about February for an apartment for the next school year. There is TONS of different options that range in price. Some are very good prices and some are very expensive. You just have to find the right place for you.

Downtown Athens – Downtown Athens has some of the greatest restaurants I have ever been to. It is right off of north campus. It is in great walking distances from all of the freshman dorms! There are many different types of food to choose from. Anything you could ever want would be found downtown. The atmosphere at most of the restaurants are super laid back and have a great feel to them. The prices are not outrageous. There are a few expensive places, but they are well worth the money.

Dorms look amazing and are centered in the middle of campus so that everything is convenient. Also the food is the best! We are known for it!

Greeks Don't Dominate but They Have They're Perks! Greek parties re amazing and if you are greek you get in for free or with a discount. They stay in HUGE mansions that one could only dream of living in. The down side is that some people judge you by the sorority or fraternity you choose to join.

White Majority – There are many people of different races however the number is low. Also they are not represented fairly amongst the student body.

Responsive Staff, Decently Priced, Convenient – I live in Family and Graduate Housing. For what is officially a one bedroom apartment with a study and full kitchen (really a two bedroom), I pay $715 a month. That includes cable, water, local phone service, garbage/recycling, and fast Internet. I have a campus bus stop a short walk away. The staff is good about addressing questions and filling maintenance requests. The only problem I have is that we can't have pets, not even for a fee.

Pretty Diverse – While the campus is no doubt majority-white, seemingly every race is represented in respectable numbers. There are many international students (most seem to be from Asian countries). No political party or ideology has an absolute majority: there are liberals and conservatives of varying degrees, moderates, Libertarians, Democrats, Greens, Republicans, and plenty who just don't follow politics.
College Junior 2012-07-29T16:39:31Z
Decent Quality, Okay Prices – It can be hit or miss. Larry's is pretty good, but Barberitos is bland and overpriced. The pre-made subs, wraps, and chili is good.

True to expectations, it's largely warm, sunny and clear almost all-year-round. There are occasional rainstorms which might inconvenience those who don't carry umbrellas, and the heat in September-October can vary, but other than that it's pleasant weather.

Decent English Department – Although there are certain professors who could take a hike, most of the classes I've taken have been intellectually and creatively challenging, and I've learned quite a lot and matured in the past two years, as much as I could have hoped.

Fair and Constantly Improving – The MLC, the main student center, is a nice facility for meeting groups, studying, or reading with a cup of coffee. The Ramsey fitness center is very large, well equipped and friendly to athletes and non-athletes.

Honors Program and Dedicated Professors – Some of the perks of being part of the Honors program include access to smaller classes, and an available community of academically-minded students. It also makes finding intelligent, compassionate professors a bit easier- those who offer sincere feedback on assignments and give valuable recommendations.

Very nice all the time. It can be hot so be prepared to wear shorts and a tshirt. However, when it rains it generally rains all day. Buy a raincoat! The winter isn't too bad. The wind can be brutal though.

Parking on the UGA campus is expensive but there are definitely spots that are fee but they really fill up quickly. If you want to park on campus, all you have to do is go to the parking permit office on east campus and get in line for about 15minutes and you are set! Honestly though, the bus system on campus is so great that you wouldn't really need a car.

Never Too Hard – Receiving financial aid was not hard. They make accessing your "reward" on Oasis very simple and all one really has to do is "accept" the amount needed from loans. The Hope Scholarship is always right below loans which makes it easy to receive. The only issues are with scholarships outside the Hope. I once went to the financial aid office to see if I could apply for scholarships and was simply told "there was nothing they could help me with". I was very discouraged and was beginning to think my transferring to UGA was a mistake! But fortunately, I paid off my debt to the school and am currently looking for scholarships to help out.

Success Is My Goal – I came to the University of Georgia with the idea of success. Every moment I spend on campus I feel like I am doing something good with my life. The students and faculty all contribute to the sensation that the UGA campus has. The Terry College has been a pleasurable experience for me so far and I can not wait to become one of its members this fall. Meeting with the proffesionals that represent the school has left with the determinationa to study abroad and make significant decisions in my life that will one day create a path of excellence to the job of my dreams! University of Georgia makes people not only have pride in our football team but in our teachers, classes, students, organizations, and the entire campus!

Health & Safety:
Safe During the Day – During the day I feel completely safe because there are a lot of people around me all the time. After dark, I suggest walking in groups of people whether that is with friends or making sure there are plenty of people around. It is a large campus, and it is good to take precautions.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
