You Get What You Need – I did not have a problem getting financial aid, however you have to do a little digging. The people in charge did a good job of answering questions, but make sure you speak up. I was registered as an out-of-state student when I wasn't, so I had to do a lot of paperwork. If you just explain your situation, they are more than happy to assist you, like they did with me.

One minute, you are bunched in jackets and leg warmers, then suddenly you have to bring out the shorts and tank tops again. If you don't like the cold, then you will do just fine.

Athens, I Love You – Athens is definitely a college town! With the party scene and very hipster habitat in Downtown, the thousands of college students attend University of Georgia, and Bulldog-themed attractions all around Athens, you know from the second you walk in the city limits that you are at the best place on Earth.

Over 90 bars downtown....are you kidding me? I don't know how they fit that many downtown but they did! Definitely has the best night life of any school in America!

Health & Safety:
Homeless People – There are a whole lot of homeless people downtown! They aren't the kind that jack you for your money though. They just sit around play instruments and hold signs, I guess it adds a little character to downtown, they do get annoying though. But there are police everywhere! they don't miss to much. So watch your ass.

They Are Cracking Down – UGA was the number one party school so police and other authorities are cracking down on enforcement. they won't really do anything about drunks unless they are completely out of it or being obnoxious. weed is a big issue. and fake ids are really big.

Variety of People – You will find different types of guys and girls. There are good looking people. Quite a few people have their own style and dress different. Many people dress sporty

Just like at any college, drugs are easily accessible here. There isn't a lot of peer pressure though. If you do it you do if you don't then you don't. It is isn't a big deal if you do or don't. Drinking is definitely a big thing here though. Every night there is something going on but that is what happens at big schools.

Guys & Girls:
I would say that the people that go to UGA are very preppy in the way that they dress. They mostly wear leggings, ugg boots, big tshirts, northface jackets, and other high end clothing.

The dining halls at UGA are mediocre. It is usually all of the same food at each dining hall. I wish they would change up the menu more and allow for us to eat on sunday nights. It definitely breaks the bank trying to find food on these nights. They also don't have a place other than the dining halls that you can use your meal plan for. I know other schools that have Chic-fil-A if you want it! I wish this was here!!!

Bus System – There is an extensive UGA bus system as well as Athens City Transit that students can use for free with an ID.

Lots of Options – There are tons of off-campus housing options, and many are affordable and close to campus.

The dining options on campus are great for students because there are multiple dining halls, and unlike a lot of schools, the dining plan is all you can eat, so you can eat whatever you want as many times as you want.

Lots to Do – We have many things to do socially and academically.

Sports are a big deal. We have a great footbal team. Everyone comes to have a good time.

Not Too Bad.. Everything was relatively easy if you have the grades.

Yes, Yes, YES! The SLC is absolutely fabulous. I mean, of course during midterm or finals week it can get crazy with a lack of access to any computers, but most times it is relatively easy to get on.
Most people have laptops, so there's not too much competition. And, if you don't want to wait to get on a desktop, they rent out laptops.

At the University of Georgia, there are countless clubs and organizations for students to join. Not only is the variety much larger than any other school I was interested in, but all of the clubs seem to co-mingle easily and are very respectful of each other. Many different clubs occupy the student center's plaza during the day and they are always very friendly to one another and are never imposing.
College Junior 2011-11-28T04:56:58Z
The bus system at UGA is great. Yeah, some busses can get behind schedule but the roads are never backed up and the variety of routes makes it easy to get close to wherever you need to be.

Living in Russell – Living in Russell Hall as a freshman is great, most people always come to Russell to hang out and meet up to go out. However, the temperature on the top floors is either scorching hot or freezing.

The labs and computers are extremely modern and upgraded. The labs are never too crowded, so that isn't a problem. The only problem is that they're mostly located in a central location, thus, it's sometimes inconvenient unless you're already on campus.

Guys & Girls:
We've been ranked one of the top 10 most attractive campuses, really involved Greek life, etc.

Wish I Had Received More – The process of getting financial aid isn't bad at all, but since it is somewhat of an academically prestigious school, getting school-offered scholarships is tough and competitive.

Not Bad – The weather at UGA so far hasn't been too bad. when it rains it pours, and recently with the changing seasons it has been a little fickle. One day you can wear shorts and a tshirt and the next you need jeans and a heavy coat. Overall it is nice.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
