Warm, Sunny, Beautiful – Large campus with many people means there had better be a whole lot of sunshine! Its hardly ever a day when the Sun's not at UGA. Its magical when it rains because a once full outdoor area becomes empty pretty fast when it really starts to pour; except for those intrepid souls of us few who love to party in the rain. Its simply Beautiful!

Epic Sports – The perks of attending a D1 school is being able to cheer on the Dawgs while they demolish our rivals! UGA is reknown for its football team, as well as basketball, soccer, and baseball. The gymnastic team is simply AMAZING and every student at UGA truly makes each sports experience fun, charged, and entertaining because we each bring our character to each game for an experience one never forgets!

Varied People – There are many diverse individuals at UGA, but individuals who are white dominant the campus. Although it is extremely diverse, there is no doubt that more whites attend UGA than any other ethnicity. This does not pose an issue, but it would be more contributive if a great deal more diversity were implemented.

Great Music – The two top ensembles at UGA are among the best in the country. The estblished Hugh Hodgeson school of music is a great school. With professionally experienced instructors and conductors

We Dont Really Know – There are alot of students at UGA. Most of the students think they no alot and are very outspoken. But most of them are not aware of the circumstances outside of having everything provided for them.

The apartments are great. You can get a place anywhere in Athens.

Hit Me up – As a big school, UGA has a great bus transportation system. It is very helpful for getting places rather hastily. Nights and weekends could use more bus life but other than that, it is a great system.
College Junior 2011-11-17T00:04:32Z
Great Gift for Everyone – There is reliable internet connection everywhere one goes on campus. The only disturbing part is having to log on to the system every time one wants to go online.

True Social Equality? Athens is a really beautiful town that welcomes everyone. The people are really kind and respectful. There is no such thing as the "cool crowd" but rather everyone is on equal grounds with everyone. One of the only flaws is the amount of smoking that occurs in the area which is, personally, quite disturbing. If one wants a welcoming community, then Athens is the place to go!

There is an amazing range of sororities and fraternities around UGA. They range from all black, all white, multicultural, etc.

Enivironment Is Amazing.! UGA has many opportunities to get involved around campus. This is the ideal school for anyone wanting to get an exquisite education and have a great college experience.

All facilities are in good or great condition. They are easily accessible via bus or walking.

Besides HOPE, there are few scholarships from UGA that I know about. I recommend searching for scholarships elsewhere.

The weather has been great. The only inconvenience so far is when it rains because many people walk to classes. As long as you have rain boots/ rain shoes and a weather-proof jacket it isn't that bad.
College Junior 2011-11-16T19:36:21Z
It is not necessary to have a car because the UGA bus system takes you anywhere on campus. The Athens bus system is free with a valid UGA ID card and can take you around campus and to the shopping areas surrounding campus.

Financial aid at the University of Georgia is not an easy thing to came by. It seems hard to receive any aid at all from the university unless one is a minority or a part of an extracurricular activity on campus, such as athletics or band. Since UGA is such a large public school, it is understandable that they are not able to help each and every student attending school. However, I wish funds were more easily available. I am afraid that when I graduate from college, it will take many years to simply pay off my student loans for college. It would be extremely helpful if people from the middle class who were part of no major minority group could easily find financial aid.

Parking on campus at the University of Georgia is not bad at all. All freshmen are guaranteed parking spots because they are forced to live on campus. As an off-campus resident, parking is not as necessary because there are busses that go to almost every off campus neighborhood to bring students to and from school. The parking decks are free to park in after six o'clock p.m. Also, one is allowed to park on the street if he or she does not purchase a parking permit, as long as it is not on a yellow curb, making parking at UGA not a horrible thing to deal with.

At the University of Georgia, diversity is a very common sight. No matter if one is seeking various types of people, or simply skipping along to class, it is impossible to see the same types of people. There are signs and posters lining every hallway and covering every billboard advertising various clubs or groups for different groups of people. There are people each week who meet together to discuss their beliefs. No matter if one would like to learn more about the Jewish religion, homosexuality, cross dressing, Indian culture, or even political stances, there is somewhere for each and every type of person here at the University of Georgia.

UGA is the best of both worlds. It offers great educational opportunity for it's students but it also surrounded by city of Athens where the fold, the music, and the people make the experience there unforgettable! I love it and I can't wait to spend the next three and a half years here at UGA.

During the day time the buses run every 5 minutes, which is incredibly convenient for students living on and around campus. There is no worrying about being late to class or walking.

Computer Labs – The computer labs at the university of georgia are equipped with the latest softwares. They are easy to access with UGA student user ID. I spend so much time there. Their customer service is also impeccable!

UGA is a very Greek university, I would say a majority of the students is in a Greek organization. Greek organizations throw parties, do community service, and also have forums about any topic. The only Greek housing that is available is for the "White" Greek organizations, they have huge houses, whereas the others don't get any type of housing. The reason for this is probably because the other Greek organizations don't have as much money to get a house.

Downtown Athens – Downtown Athens has a lot of unique restaurants that aren't located anywhere else. For example, Transmetropolitan is a pizza place downtown where you can order a slice or an entire pizza just the way you like it, it's completely customized the way you want it. They also have other foods, such as pastas and salads, but pizza is their specialty. Most restaurants in Athens have coupons or special discounts for students, which is very convenient.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
