Not Geek If You're Not Greek – At the University of Georgia Greek life is a large part of the community but it is not the only way to be involved in school and the surrounding community. Greek events are open to all students.

The University of Georgia has such great food! There are currently (2010) four dining halls. Each one has salad bars, desert bars, cereal bars, sandwich sections, a grill, and fruit and vegetables. They differ in what they 'specialize' in. For example, Bolton is unique in that it has an entire Vegan section. "O-House" has a 'Country Cookin's' line with fried chicken, mashed potatoes, green beans, etc. East Campus Village (ECV) is the athletic dining hall (anyone is welcome to eat in there) and always has the freshest foods! ECV cooks make personal pan pizzas and philly cheese steaks to order. Yummm. The last dining hall, Snelling, is open 24 hours a day and is popular for late night study sessions! A+ all the way!

The University of Georgia has an excellent science program. The workload is only slightly harder than average if a student keeps up with studying and deadlines. The material is explained very clearly and the professors are always willing to help. It is unique in that it is known as one of the better science programs of the south, yet it is only as hard as the student themselves make it.

I <3 Buses – UGA's bus system is simply incredible. With the exception of rainy days there are only two, twenty-minute-long periods which the buses are less than prime in any day, lunch and 4:45-5:05 when the majority of classes finish and the "day" ends.
The coverage of the service is incredibly well-done and there are few areas of campus more than two-minutes walk from a stop.

Athens might be lacking in the ultra-fine-dining arena, but make no mistake. The city is delicious and has a slew of restaurants for the palate to enjoy. Downtown offers an atmosphere for dining which is simply incredible and cannot be described as anything but Athenian in nature. Likewise, the other areas of town offer numerous options and delicious possibilities.

Knowledge Within Bounds – At the University of Georgia a general atmosphere has come into being that discourages students from voicing novel thoughts and ideas. My previous school was highly accepting of ideas which, when offered at UGA, were disregarded or treated as a waste of time to investigate. So, while the educational level is extremely high, the critical thinking and creative portions of a well-balanced academic career are lacking.

The University of Georgia has been named the number one party school for years in a row, as well as top ten for much longer. With about 70 bars and clubs, and lack of strict authority, Athens is the place everyone wants to be on the weekends! It's fun and the cops realize students are just living the college life, so as long as students aren't a threat to public safety, there's no real issue.

The World Is Your Canvas – The University of Georgia has just about every educational program a person can imagine. I don't know any student that hasn't changed their major at least once, and I also don't know any students that have had a difficult time doing so. The school is more than willing to help a perosn get on the track that they want to be on, with as little stress and hassle as possible.

Apartments Grant Freedom! Athens is the place to live for college students. Not only is the school known for it's ability to have a good time, the apartments provide safety, proximity, bonding and experiences. The highest rent per person, as a student, around Athens is about $500 including all utilities except for power. Most apartments have nice pools, public transportation for apartment members to school and back as well as to the amazing nightlife known as "downtown" and back.

School Policies – They are very strict though we are known to be a party school.

Awesome Activities and Music Scene – Athens, GA is one of the most exciting college towns I have visited. I love living here there is always something to do, never a dull moment.

I have some of the best professor's ever such as Dr. Boone for SPED 2000 but I also have had some of the absolute worst. These teacher's were not only boring and unable to maintain the classes attention. These teacher's have ruined my experience at the school. Professor Tauger (spelling?) was one of the terrible one's. Her class was beyond boring and had nothing to do with the test's. She also admitted to committing serveral crimes in her class which is completely unprofessional.

bad weather always sucks no matter where you are, but there are lots of buses, so if you have your rain boots, you'll be a-okay!!!!

Health & Safety:
There is minimal campus crime on the outskirts of campus, but I have never felt my safety was in jeopardy. I have always felt very safe!

UGA is a bit overwhelming. I love the people I have met and Athens is amazing but I would prefer to be at a smaller school with close-knit friends.

It requires an extreme sense of responsibility and effort. The work load is tough but fair and I think it will all be worth it when graduation comes.

There's a nice diversity of classes offered. The level of teaching, however, varies depending on the professor.

Although there are a lot of parking on campus, sometimes you may have to park on south campus while all your classes are on north campus. The school does try to help this problem by keeping busy regular so you can move across campus quickly.

While attending the University of Georgia, students are given the opportunity to apply to the Terry College of Business. Knowing this a top school in the United States, students are pushed to the limits in order to learn everything about your specific field. With intense classes, they prepare us to ace the CPA exam with over 70% passing rates. This is a great school that truly prepares us for the future. If you work hard and study at least an hour a night, you can feel prepared when entering for your exams. Although the exams are tough, you must study very hard to see good results.

Lots of Options – I never personally lived off campus. I lived in Brumby and then in my sorority house but my friends never had trouble with housing and it was always a descent price.

Snelling Is the Best! The food is definitely great at UGA. I gained a little more weight my freshman year than I would like to admit. Snelling's late night pizza was awesome.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
