Athens' weather is fairly good during the fall & winter, though fairly bad in spring & summer. Local topography seems to prevent rain, even when there's a lot of rain in neighboring counties. It's very, very hot in the summer, without much wind.

I've studied English @ UGA, transferring to psychology/counseling, and I found the experience quite unsettling. So many of the students at UGA are there, riding on their parents' ticket. This made it quite difficult for me, who did not receive any real support from my family while attending. Working two and three jobs, while attending full-time classes, is frustrating enough without watching thousands of kids drink their parents' credit limits every night. The quality of the education itself was less-than-stellar; while I did have a few good profs., I did not care for the overall quality of teaching.

Guys & Girls:
GA Guys – I think there is a variety of Guys on this campus. I f you get around, don't just stay in the dorm, you'll see the variety. We may not have enough minorities, but We love the ones we have. It also makes it easier for us to stick together since there aren't as much. Many of the guys are not even from Georgia, and it's surprises me each time. We have guys from all over the nation, and the world.

Go DAWGS! I gave it an A, not A plus because they can always make it even better, and are continuously trying to do so.
Ok, I never thought I would ever come to love UGA as much as I do now. I was here strictly to go to school, but over the last year or so, I've grown more and more fonder of this University. I become so attached that, since It's my last year, I dread leaving it. I root for my school any chance
I get now, and am proud of this school. I love the classes, all my professors have been wonderful, and the sports are great. During the school year, there's TON to do. This is my last year, my sixth year, and I will cherish every moment til the day I leave. IF I leave!

I come from a single parent home, so going to UGA was a big shock for us financially. I only revieved the Pell Grant from financial aid, and a few scholarships from my home town. I had no idea of all the scholarships and grants UGA offered until the summer of my freshmen year. At this time i was no longer eligiable for any of the free money. I encourage students to do some reasearch and ask about the possible grants and scholarships that are available for them.

They are over 50 bars downtown that are just waiting for students to go crazy in. If students aren't downtown, they're at a frat house dancing and gaming the night away. Their is always something to do in Athens at night, it's beautiful, it's crazy, it's always memorable!

Subpar but on the Rise – White girls. That's 50% of the campus at least. But things are changing, many more Indians and African Americans as well as foreign students attend the University now. However the status quo is my fat greek, white, wedding...

Many Options, High Competition – This school's academics are very developed; many well qualified teachers lecture a wide litany of classes. There is a major for everyone, and even a minor to go with it! Unfortunately due to the HUGE campus population, many students are trapped in stagnant 300 person classes. Competition is also very, very high, with the best greatly shadowing those who need the most help.

Since UGA is the biggest school in Georgia with close to 30,000 students. You will find people who are alike. It is easy to make friends. I mean 30,000 people I am sure you can find 5 out of that. Also, there are so many organizations on the campus. It is easy to get involved and also if you like you can start your own organization.

There have been arrests made in Downtown Athens for underage drinking. They usually dont legally charge you for the Fake ID, but that depends on the cop. Just be careful when you go downtown. Make sure you have friends with you and dont get so drunk that you have to be carried home. That will usually lead to your arrest. Just dont draw attention to yourself.

There are four different dining halls and they all have a wide variety of food. Campus also has several places to eat if you aren't on meal plan.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
