There are many computers available, especially at the student learning center, and also in other buildings in computer labs and such. wifi can be problematic and slow at times but overall it is alright.

Honesty policy is always there, just don't cheat. But the cops make a killing. If you aren't driving perfectly I hope you have Daddy's money.

Subpar but on the Rise – White girls. That's 50% of the campus at least. But things are changing, many more Indians and African Americans as well as foreign students attend the University now. However the status quo is my fat greek, white, wedding...

Many Options, High Competition – This school's academics are very developed; many well qualified teachers lecture a wide litany of classes. There is a major for everyone, and even a minor to go with it! Unfortunately due to the HUGE campus population, many students are trapped in stagnant 300 person classes. Competition is also very, very high, with the best greatly shadowing those who need the most help.

Since UGA is the biggest school in Georgia with close to 30,000 students. You will find people who are alike. It is easy to make friends. I mean 30,000 people I am sure you can find 5 out of that. Also, there are so many organizations on the campus. It is easy to get involved and also if you like you can start your own organization.

There have been arrests made in Downtown Athens for underage drinking. They usually dont legally charge you for the Fake ID, but that depends on the cop. Just be careful when you go downtown. Make sure you have friends with you and dont get so drunk that you have to be carried home. That will usually lead to your arrest. Just dont draw attention to yourself.

Health & Safety:
UGA police are never far, so you feel pretty safe. You still need to make sure you're aware of your surroundings though because it is a large campus.

Athens gets super hot in the summer and early fall. Hot and cold weather impact campus experiences because it is a huge campus that may require a lot of walking. If the shuttles are full you may have to walk close to a mile to get to your next class.
The shuttles try to be good about air conditioning and heating for the students.

There is a lot of parking available if you really want a spot, but location is based on seniority. Students that live in the dorms have the best spots, so it can be difficult to find parking if you live off campus. I payed 100 per semester and had to walk a good bit depending on where my class was. The campus is huge so shuttles take you to different locations, and they come every 3-5 minutes. I am not sure how much fines were. I think they were around 40.00. It is not necessary to have a car on campus because of the shuttles.

I was not involved in Greek Life; however, they are a major part of campus life. Each fraternity or sorority is heavily involved in events during football games. I think they are perceived has wealthy and party animals by people that are non-greeks.

General Campus Aesthetic – Georgia has overall green feel and the campus is very pleasing to walk around, especially in the fall. Saturday in the fall is a great atmosphere to be around with all the RED and BLACK and leaves turning colors.

Very Fortunate – Almost all of the colleges within this university provides a computer lab with very fast speed and wireless access. The only issue is that I wish we did not have to pay for the printers. Our initial computer fees should pay for that without any problems. I also do not like how they rip us off when we print out color (50 cents)

Guys & Girls:
Guys and Girls – Most guys and girls look exactly the same at school and come from similar backgrounds. You can find girls adorned in track shorts and blonde, and guys tend to all wear a polo and khaki pants.

Dorming is not the best option depending on the dorm you inhabit. The more expensive the dorm, the better quality. However, most students prefer to live off campus for financial reasons.

It's a Wait – The financial aid process takes a while depending on when you file and turn in your paper work. The financial aid counselors are helpful at times but if you want to see things get done you really have to make the effort to make phone calls, write emails and make personal visits to ensure that your work gets filed correctly.

Always Been My Home – I'm from Athens so UGA has always been my home. I knew starting off in grade school that I would attend college at UGA. What makes UGA so unique is that it is in the heart of the town-it is the heart of the town. The love and pride that everyone in attendance has for the school is just amazing. It really has made my first two years enjoyable. I would choose to do it all over again at UGA in a heart beat.
