There are many different route buses that go through the campus. The city buses are also free for students. They do get crowded sometimes.

Downtown Athens is literally right next to North Campus. There are many clubs and bars to choose from and the best music and fun!

Freshman Dorms – They are really small and cramped and you better like your roommate a whole lot because there is no space of your own.

Food and Menus – It is true that colleges are different than high school. That is shown in the food provided in the dining halls. The dining hall food is NOTHING like the school cafeteria food you abhor. There are many different and delicious options to choose from in the dining hall. I recommend Snelling Dining Hall.

We're D-1 for a Reason! We're a Division 1 school. SPORTS MATTER. Our slogan at University of Georgia during the football season is "It's Saturday in Athens!" On Saturday, everyone will forget about all their problems and issues to come together and boo the rival! But that's just football, once Basketball season comes, all the rest of the fans reveal themselves. But if the mainstream sports aren't enough, we have a top ranking Tennis & Softball team, along with a well credited Equestrian and Water Polo teams as well.

Guys & Girls:
Let's up the Par – Well, by being a African-American student on campus, my choice of guys are... well, limiting. Don't get me wrong, there is variety, but when you're in a small crowd, everybody knows everybody and they will find out about everything. But there are thousands of guys outside the small groups, we all just have to take a leap of faith and get out there.

Health & Safety:
Campus Crime and Personal Safety – I feel safe, although at night it is not too safe or smart to walk by yourself. The cops are in certain areas, but crime still goes on. Specially robbery.

UGA is the best college in the world. We were rated the number one party school but still have strong academics.

UGA has a very strong Greek community. The Greek community has a huge impact on campus as well as the community. We have very nice houses, provide thousands of dollars to philanthropies, and great social calendars.

There are a lot of unique dining options in the area.

They are awesome!!! They can get you to pretty much anywhere you want to go. They are usually on time but there are some days when they are off. I love the bus drivers because they are so nice and most of them are students. The only thing i don't like is the time interval between buses.

Good Food, Too Much Though. The food at all the dining halls is amazing. However, it is about 3500 a year for a 7-day meal plan and it's all you can eat. That is expensive and not worth it if you're a girl or you don't eat a lot or if you're living off-campus. Most people don't even eat on campus on the weekends. But it is a good thing to have if you want a quick bite between classes.

Very Important – Drug and Alcohol safety is really important for UGA because it currently holds the title of the biggest party school in the US. They require all students to take an alcohol awareness test before they get accepted.

Not Really Diverse – University of Georgia has a large white population, but also a large black population. The school is not as diverse as most schools.

The computers at the school are average. I do not use them often because I bring my own though.

I haven't really had any problem with campus strictness. I'm pretty neutral.

Live Music! Super night life! There are so many shows going on, all the time! And a good mix of bars.

Great School! I loved my time spent at UGA! Lots of incredible professors, and the resources are unending. And Athens is an amazing town with lots of opportunities - especially artistically!

If it's possible riding a bike or walking are the easiest options for getting to campus. If you don't have a parking pass for on-campus parking or for permit required parking near campus, finding a free space can be quite difficult if you don't know where to look.

Top of the Line – The facilities are top of the line and almost always open for use. The athletic center is huge and has almost limitless options. The Miller Learning Center is the one of the best places to study, but there are also many other hidden study areas. Tate, the student center, has a movie theatre and multiple restaurants.

Perfect College Town – The town of Athens is basically kept alive by the University of Georgia. Students can step through the famous Arch and walk right onto Broad Street, which is the main street in the downtown area. Almost all restaurants, bars, and other social places have deals for college students. Athens could be and is considered the perfect college town.

Flagship Univeristy Mentality – There are lots of state schools out there. However, in the state of Georgia, UGA reigns supreme. Throughout the state and the region, UGA is referred to as a flagship university. Students and faculty alike carry themselves around with this attitude. There are many here who would argue that UGA, despite it's large size, is capable of providing an education and college experience on par with any Ivy League school.

Living in the south, one generally establishes a love-hate relationship with the weather. Summers are balmy hot, winters are generally on the cool side of mild. Severe weather comes and goes during Spring, Summer, and Fall. Thunderstorms are an evening norm throughout these seasons as well. The majority of the time, partly cloudy conditions prevail, with ample sunshine and plenty of time open to explore sports at IM fields or the downtown scene.

Best in the Land – Georgia's football program, even on an off year, is filled with all the energy and pizazz of a top ranked NCAA team. Fan support is tremendous and rides on a rich legacy of passion and pride. Athletic facilities are second to none, with a student center that boasts one of the largest physical surface areas of the buildings on campus; in addition, the football stadium has become an icon of UGA's spirit, boasting over 96,000 seats. The Colosseum recently underwent an aesthetic face-lift that has brought it up to par with the finest athletic facilities in the country. IM sports are a pinnacle of campus culture, with events everyday spanning 9 different multi-purpose fields that can be utilized by all students.

Finding financial aid and scholarships through the University of Georgia is rigourous, requirements are very high.
